Two short-stacked players in Gaspar Omar Fernandez and Danail Ivanov committed their chips to the pot preflop and were put at risk by France's Raphael Chicheportiche.
There wasn't much hope for the short-stacked players after the flop of A♣A♠Q♥ improved Chicheportiche to trip aces. Fernandez did pick up a flush draw on the 2♥ turn but the 7♣ river was a brick, which meant Chicheportiche took the pot and eliminated two players at the same time.
With two players seeing a board of 6♠8♣7♣5♣ and around 21,000 in the middle, Yunsheng Sun moved all in from middle position for 16,000 and was called by Magnus Persson, who covered him from the button.
Yunsheng Sun: 4♥3♥
Magnus Persson: 9♥6♥
Sun was in bad shape with the lower end of the straight and could only chop the pot against Persson if a nine fell on the river. The K♥ river offered no help to Sun who made his exit from the tournament area while Persson scooped the pot.
With two players seeing a final board of 2♦2♣10♠4♦Q♥ and a bit over 16,000 in the middle Kamalle Belaidouni checked from the hijack and David Rivas shoved for 20,500 from the cutoff. Belaidouni went into the tank for a couple of minutes before flicking in the call.
Rivas tapped the table to indicate his opponent was good before showing K♥9♥ for a bluff. Belaidouni showed 5♥5♣ for a small pocket pair which, despite two overcards being on the board, was good enough to eliminate Rivas and take in a massive early pot.
With 8,000 chips already in the pot on a board of 8♥K♦5♣6♥, Erik Friberg shoved for his last 10,000. Breno Drumond Avelino made the call, then Friberg shoved. Avelino had around 11,000 remaining in his stack but decided to fold.
Erik Friberg: K♠5♠
Hendrik Ricken: 8♠8♦
Friberg was drawing slim and the 10♥ river wasn't the card he needed to bail him out, which meant he was eliminated.
There were already 15,000 chips in the pot on a flop of 8♠7♥3♦ with Edgar Kenji Ishida, Ait Ouccime Faycal, Jan Thierfelder, and Gaspar Omar Fernandez all still involved. Thierfelder bet out 8,000, which only Ishida called.
Both checked the 6♣ turn to see the Q♥ fall on the river. Thierfelder checked and Ishida shoved for around 10,000.
"Do you have pocket queens?" asked Thierfielder.
Eventually, Thierfelder made the call.
Ishida showed 6♥5♥ for a pair of sixes, but Thierfelder had the winner with A♥A♠.
