There is a slight delay to proceedings as players register and take their seats.
2024 PokerStars EPT Barcelona
The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona continues today with the €30,000 Super High Roller Warm Up. This is the most expensive buy in so far at EPT Barcelona. Play will commence at 12:30 p.m local time at the Casino Barcelona on the city's waterfront.
This is the first €30,000 buy-in tournament to be held at EPT Barcelona. Similar to the previous €20,000 tournament that was first played this week, the key difference is the players start with a stack of 250,000 chips instead of 100,000.
EPT Barcelona has already seen some high stakes action this year. The €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament held yesterday into the early hours of this morning was won by Byron Kaverman. He took home €381,060, adding to his second place finish in the €12,300 Cuatro Knockout just two days ago for €119,400. Kayhan Mokri won the €20,000 No-Limit Hold'em for €259,646, adding to his $2.7 million in winnings from EPT events.
A shot clock will be implemented from the start of the event. Each player will have 15 seconds to act on their first decision and 30 seconds on any subsequent decision.
Players will receive six time bank cards worth 30 seconds each at the time of taking their seat then one additional time bank card at the start of every odd level (3,5,7,9 etc.).
Eliminated players who reenter can claim the number of time bank cards they had at elimination when they take their seat and not later.
Action will commence with blinds at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. There will be 15-minute breaks at the end of Levels 3, 6 and 10 before a 75-minute dinner break after Level 14.
Late registration will remain open until the end of Level 10.
Stay tuned as PokerNews will be bringing you all the action and updates from here at EPT Barcelona on the Spanish coast.
