Following the successful return of the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) in Las Vegas last year, PokerStars announced in May that the NAPT will return to Resorts World, Las Vegas, this November for another ten-day poker extravaganza.
The series is highlighted by the NAPT Las Vegas Main Event, which has a $5,300 buy-in. Last year's champion, Sami Bechahed, topped the 1,095-entry field and took home a substantial $268,945.
For those who missed out last year or looking to have a second bite of the cherry, you'll be pleased to know that you can secure your seat in the Main Event for a fraction of the buy-in.
The 11 players have been sent on a 60-minute dinner break.
The tournament is expected to resume at 8:45 p.m. local time. That will also be the time when late registration will close.
Limit Hold'em
Mike Watson raised in the cutoff and he was three-bet by Vladimir Troyanovskiy in the small blind. Watson called and also called a bet on the A♥3♠J♣ flop.
The K♣ turn saw Troyanovskiy check to Watson, after which the latter fired a bet. Troyanovskiy quickly passed his cards to the dealer as Watson added more chips to his stack.
No-Limit Hold'em
Tobias Hausen opened to 4,000 from under the gun and Dongwoo Ko defended his big blind.
On the A♦9♠3♥ flop, Hausen continued for 3,000 and Ko quickly called.
The turn brought the K♦ and Hausen jammed for 20,800 effective as the covering stack and Ko snapped it off.
Dongwoo Ko: A♥A♣
Tobias Hausen: 10♦9♦
Ko had trapped with his aces and held top set against the flush draw of Hausen. The 6♥ river was a safe one for Ko who doubled at the expense of Hausen.
No-Limit Hold'em
Dongwoo Ko raised to 3,500 under the gun. The action folded to Ivo Bartoletti in the big blind, who made it 12,000 to go.
After some thought, Ko four-bet all in. Bartoletti immediately called for 49,000 total, putting himself at risk.
Ivo Bartoletti: A♥6♥
Dongwoo Ko: A♣5♣
The Q♠4♠6♠ paired up Bartoletti and his pair of sixes won him the pot when the board ran out J♥Q♣. He doubled up while the baffled Ko was left with less than 20 big blinds.
Pot-Limit Omaha
Vladimir Troyanovskiy raised to 3,500 under the gun and was called by Jiaming Zhao in the cutoff. Mike Watson and Vladimir Troyanovskiy matched the bet in the blinds, after which the 3♠J♠J♦ flop was checked by all four players.
Watson then led for 3,500 on the 7♥ turn, which folded out Pollak and Zhao. Troyanovskiy put in a call, however, and called as well when Watson bet 6,000 on the A♠ river.
"Full house," Watson claimed as he tabled 7♦7♣4♥4♣. His sevens full of jacks were good enough to take down the pot, making him the new chipleader at the table.
Pot-Limit Omaha
Imad Derwiche limped the cutoff, Benjamin Pollak limped in the small blind, and Vladimir Troyanovskiy checked his option in the big blind.
On the A♦10♥8♦ flop, Derwiche bet pot of 6,000 and only Pollak called.
The turn brought the K♠ and Pollak led for 15,000. Derwiche tanked for a while before he moved all in for 21,000 and Pollak called.
Imad Derwiche: J♥8♥8♣7♥
Benjamin Pollak: K♦Q♣7♦3♠
Derwiche had flopped a set and was in good shape against Pollak, until the 3♦ river gave Pollak a flush to eliminate Derwiche.
