Veipans Eliminates Two and Claims Chip Lead with Big All-In Win
Niveau 25
: Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Giuseppe Tarsia pushed all in with about 100,000 from middle position, and Fahad El Mechraa, holding around 600,000, called. Nils Veipans, sitting on the button, then shoved all in himself, prompting an immediate call from El Mechraa. It was time for a showdown.
Giuseppe Tarsia: A♣J♣
Fahad El Mechraa: Q♥J♥
Nils Veipans: A♦A♥
Tarsia and El Mechraa had many ways to improve, but the board of 8♦3♦8♠6♦9♥ failed to help both of them. Veipans not only eliminated two players but also appeared to claim the chip lead at this stage of the tournament.
