Grafton Grabs Pots from Palma and Troyanovskiy

Niveau 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

First, it was Nick Palma and Sam Grafton squaring off. Palma opened the action from the hijack with a raise to 2,500, only to face a three-bet from Grafton, who made it 7,500. Palma wasn’t backing down and four-bet to 16,000, but Grafton pushed all in, forcing Palma to fold and concede the hand.

In the very next hand, Grafton took the initiative again, raising 2,500 from the hijack. This time, Vladimir Troyanovskiy defended his big blind and called.

The flop came down 9A8, and Troyanovskiy check-called Grafton’s 2,200 continuation bet.

When the A hit the turn, Troyanovskiy led out with a 5,000 bet, and Grafton called without hesitation.

On the 4 river, Troyanovskiy slowed down with a check, and Grafton responded by putting the pressure on with a hefty 25,000 bet, essentially putting Troyanovskiy’s tournament life on the line. After some thought, Troyanovskiy decided it wasn’t worth the risk and folded, giving Grafton another pot.
