Metaal Spikes River to Land Set over Set

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Cards were on their backs and Govert Metaal was all-in for 54,500 versus Lars Kamphues, with Metaal slightly covered.

Govert Metaal: K♠K♥
Lars Kamphues: J♥J♦

Metaal looked in good shape for the double, but the J♣10♦8♣ flop propelled Kamphues in front with a set of jacks.

The 2♦ river was a brick but the K♦ rolled off on the river to give Metaal the higher set, to gasps from the rest of the table.
