Jack Sinclair raised from the cutoff and action folded to Andris Rasins, who shoved for a bit under two million from the small blind. Sinclair quickly called to put Rasins at risk and a showdown was held.
Andris Rasins: 8♦8♠
Jack Sinclair: A♣K♣
The 10♦J♠2♥ flop kept Rasins in the lead with his eights, but the Q♣ turn upgraded Sinclair to Broadway and left Rasins drawing dead.
An irrelevant 7♣ completed the board and Rasins was eliminated in 12th place.
Alexantr Spatharis opened to 900,000 from the cutoff and was faced with a three-bet jam to 5,150,000 from Magnus Persson in the big blind, with Spatharis making the call with the slightly covering stack.
Alexantr Spatharis: K♦J♦
Magnus Persson: A♥A♦
Persson had woken up with the goods, but the 8♦8♥2♦ flop spelt danger, Spatharis picking up a flush draw. The 5♥ turn was a brick but Spatharis binked the 7♦ river, hitting the table in celebration as he did so.
Persson was left cursing his misfortune, and was forced all-in from the small blind in the next hand. Konstantinos Nanos opened to 825,000, but folded to a three-bet to 2,250,000 from Jack Sinclair.
Magnus Persson: K♣Q♦
Jack Sinclair: Q♥Q♠
Persson only had an overcard and exited after he ultimately missed the A♣10♣6♠3♠9♠ runout.
Gerald Karlic opened to 600,000 from early position, and short-stack Manuel Roca three-bet jammed for 2,125,000. Action folded back to Karlic, who made the quick call.
Manuel Roca: 6♦6♣
Gerald Karlic: Q♣10♣
Roca was ahead in a race but the queen was in the window on the K♥Q♠3♠ flop, and the 10♦ turn improved Karlic to two pair. Roca couldn't find a two-outer on the river, and he wished the table well as he departed.
