Kabrhel Ousts Pudel to Extend Chip Lead

Niveau 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel opened to 100,000 from under the gun and action folded to Nils Pudel, who shoved for a bit over 700,000 on the button. Kabrhel quickly called to put Pudel at risk and a showdown was held.

Nils Pudel: QQAll in
Martin Kabrhel: AA

It was a cooler for Pudel, and the QA497 runout improved both players to a set — leaving Kabrhel best and eliminating Pudel from the tournament.

"Set over set... there was nothing you could do!" Kabrhel joked as he collected the pot.

Tsvetanov Finds a Double

Niveau 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Around 1,600,000 was in the middle on a flop of A10Q and Martin Tsvetanov jammed his last 70,000 from the big blind, receiving a call from Michael Sklenicka in the cutoff.

Martin Tsvetanov: A10 All in
Michael Sklenicka: A4

Tsvetanov had flopped two pair and Sklenicka required runner runners, but the 8 turn was a brick, the 4 river making Sklenicka a rubdown irrelevant two pair. "There's the four" he said, smiling as Tsvetanov raked in the pot.

Heads-up on a flop of 95A, Martin Kabrhel on the button bet 80,000, then fired a second barrel of 420,000 on the 7 turn. Miki Vea Garcia in the big blind check-called both times.

The J completed the board and after Vea Garcia checked, Kabrhel decided to move all in. Vea Garcia snap-called, being the player at risk for 1,975,000.

Sklenicka Busts Krzyminski

Niveau 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Michael Sklenicka opened to 160,000 under the gun, and was faced with a three-bet to 500,000 from Michal Krzyminski in the cutoff. Action folded back to Sklenicka, who thought for a bit before pumping it up to 950,000.

Kryzminski didn't take long before five-bet jamming for 2,205,000 total, and didn't look pleased when Sklenicka snapped with the slightly covering stack.

Krzyminski was ahead in a race, but that didn't last long after the flop came AK4, giving Sklenicka top two pair. Kryzminski was down to two outs, and they didn't arrive on the 53 turn and river.

Andro Scarpa was seen departing another table, having also busted.

Set for Ampelikiotis

Niveau 29 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Around 1,050,000 was in the middle on a board of AK69, in a three-way hand between Ladislao Dalfo in the big blind, and Theodoros Ampelikiotis and Gerald Karlic in middle position, with action checked through.

The 7 river completed the board, and Dalfo check-called a bet of 500,000 from Ampelikiotis, with Karlic getting out of the way.

Ampelikiotis tabled KK for the flopped set of kings, and Dalfo mucked, claiming shortly afterwards he had a set of sixes.

Controversy at Table 6 as Piesiewicz Gets Unintended Double

Niveau 29 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

There was a bit of controversy here at Table 6.

With around 1,500,000 in the middle on a completed board of K54QJ, Bartosz Piesiewicz checked in the big blind to Martijn Kiers under the gun.

Kiers had around 2,400,000 behind, and moved forward around 600,000 in chips while saying "All-in". Piesiewicz flicked in a calling chip, but with the players seated in the eight and one seats, he didn't realize Kiers had a stack behind.

Piesiewicz, who had 1,775,000 total, stated he didn't want to make the call for the full amount and maintained that the bet should be limited to the 600,000 Kiers had put in the middle, demanding the floor be called.

There was a five minute delay while matters were explained to the tournament director, who sought a second opinion, before it was confirmed that Kiers verbal declaration of all-in stood, as did Piesewicz's call. Kiers had done nothing wrong, he had stated he was all-in, and it was Piesiewicz's responsibility to check the amount of the bet he was calling.

Neither player was pleased, Kiers stating "This is ridiculous, he would have folded if he'd known the true amount", and it soon became apparent why he did not like the ruling, as he flipped A9 for ace-high. Piesiewicz tabled K10 for a pair of kings, and scooped the most accidental double-up he will probably have in his poker career.

Karlic Continues to Stack Chips

Niveau 29 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Gerald Karlic opened to 200,000 from early position, and received a call from Istvan Pilhofer in the small blind, before Claudio Livrieri three-bet jammed for 375,000 from the big blind.

Karlic asked if he could raise, and on being told he could, pumped it up to 800,000. Pilhofer called.

On the 662 flop, Pilhofer check-called versus a bet of 450,000 from Karlic. The JA turn and river were checked through.

Karlic tabled 88 for two pair eights and sixes, which was good versus Pilhofer's 55 for a worse two pair. Livrieri had 73 and departed.

Adrian Ibanescu was also seen departing the tournament area after busting.
