O'Dwyer Caught Out on River
Enrico Camosci raised to 3,000 from the hijack, Mihails Nikitins called on the button, Vladas Tamasauskas called in the small blind, and Steve O'Dwyer called in the big blind to make it a family pot with four players to the flop.
The flop was dealt 5♥2♣7♣ and Tamasauskas led for 3,000, which all three other players called. The turn came the 8♠ and Tamasauskas checked. O'Dwyer made it 16,000 to go, Camosci called, Nikitins folded and Tamasauskas called.
The river was the K♠ and Tamasauskas checked again. O'Dwyer pushed out a bet of 49,500, most of his stack. Camosci folded and Tamasauskas moved all in.
This left O'Dwyer in a bit of a pickle. If he folded, he'd be left with less than a small blind. By this point, he seemed to know he was beat, an anguished look on his face as he used up his time bank cards.
O'Dwyer eventually made a resigned call for his remaining chips. He showed J♣9♣ for a bluff. Tamasauskas turned over K♣5♣ for two pair, kings and fives, to win the pot, eliminating O'Dwyer.
