Santerne Busts as Klein Makes Straight
Thomas Santerne was already short stacked following previous clashes when Morten Klein raised to 21,000 from middle position, promting a reraise from Nikita Kuznetcov, who made it 55,000 to go. Santerne moved all in for 60,000 from late position, sending Klein into the tank before he flat-called. Kuznetcov threw in 5,000 more to make the call.
Klein and Kuznetcov then checked it back on the 4♥A♥9♦ flop and 8♠ turn. The river came the 10♠ and Klein fired out a bet of 100,000. Kuznetcov folded to leave Klein and Santerne to reveal their cards.
Santerne had 7♥7♦ for a pair of sevens, while Klein had Q♠J♠ for a rivered straight. He won the pot and Santerne, who claimed his second High Roller title the day before, was eliminated from the tournament.
