191 Players Return to the Felt For Day 3 of the EPT Prague Main Event

Anton Bergstrom
Anton Bergstrom

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 Main Event heads into Day 3 today, with 191 players returning to the baize inside the stunning Hilton Prague at noon local time. This year’s Main Event has reached new heights, setting a record with an astounding 1,458 entries, creating a massive €7,071,300 prize pool. Each of the remaining competitors has already locked up a minimum cash of €8,550, but all eyes are on the top prize of €1,146,500 and the prestigious title of EPT Main Event Champion.

Day 3 kicks off with Sylwia Studniarz leading the charge, having bagged an impressive 842,000 chips at the end of Day 2. Despite having only two recorded live cashes on The Hendon Mob, Studniarz already boasts a notable victory from the EPT Ladies Event in Barcelona last year, where she took home €10,670. Sweden’s Anton Bergstrom occupies second place with 715,000 chips, who finished twenty-fourth in this event last year and will know what it takes to make a deep run here in Prague.

Sklenicka First Out on Day 3

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Sklenicka
Michael Sklenicka

David Wintersberger opened from early position and Michael Sklenicka shoved for around 130,000 from the big blind. Wintersberger snap-called.

Michael Sklenicka: AK All in
David Wintersberger: KK

Sklenicka was at risk in the very first hand and his chances of survival were severely dampened on the KJ2 flop as Wintersberger made top set.

"A king is very good for me," said Wintersberger.

The 4 on the turn left Sklenicka drawing dead, and the meaningless 5 dropped on the river, which meant Sklenicka hit the rail first on Day 3.

Rudolph Scores a Double-Up on the First Hand

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Christian Rudolph
Christian Rudolph

On the first hand of Day 3, there was already an all-in and a call at table #11, with Christian Rudolph’s tournament life on the line.

Christian Rudolph: AA All in
Yauheni Tsiareshchanka: AK

Rudolph found himself on the right side of the cooler, while Tsiareshchanka needed significant help from the board. The dealer spread a flop of 9K2, giving Tsiareshchanka a glimmer of hope, but the 6 turn and 2 river provided no further improvement. Tsiareshchanka was left with just two big blinds.

Burke Cracks Vaskresenski's Aces

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Maksim Vaskresenski

On a board of 10KQ2, there were around 80,000 chips in the middle when Kenny Burke got his stack of 125,000 in the middle, and was put at risk by Maksim Vaskresenski.

Kenny Burke: KQ All in
Maksim Vaskresenski: AA

Burke had flopped two pair to get his nose in front of the aces, but still needed to fade the river card in order to survive and double up. The British player actually improved to a full house on the K river, which secured him the pot and a stack of around 330,000.

Grafton’s Queens Can't Win the Race

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Gal Bar opened the action to 10,000 and faced a three-bet to 30,000 from Sam Grafton on his immediate left. When the action returned to Bar, he counted his chips and announced all in. Grafton snap-called.

Gal Bar: AK All in
Sam Grafton: QQ

The classic poker race was underway, and Grafton's chances diminished when the dealer revealed the K43 flop. The 9 turn and J river provided no help, leaving Grafton with just five big blinds and he was eliminated shortly after.

Mack Hits the Jackpot to Bust O'Donoghue

Niveau 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Liam O'Donoghue
Liam O'Donoghue

Liam ODonoghue got his last 120,000 into the middle preflop with Adrian Mack being the player trying to bust him.

Liam O'Donoghue: QQ All in
Adrian Mack: 77

O'Donoghue looked poised to doubled through Mack if his queens could hold up.

The flop of 732 was disastrous for O'Donoghue as Mack improved to a set of sevens to take the lead. O'Donoghue stood up out of his chair and Mack replicated this to try and counter the stand-up run good. It seemed to work as the rest of the board ran out K2 to give Mack the winner with a boat, sending O'Donoghue to the rail.

Rege Can't Get the Pay Jump

Niveau 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Gianas Rege
Gianas Rege

Gianfranco Iaculli opened the action with a raise to 12,000 from under the gun, and Gianas Rege put out a three-bet to 35,000, leaving a blue 5,000-chip behind. When the action folded back to Iaculli, he moved a pile of blue chips in the middle to put his opponent all-in.

With just two players away from a pay jump, Rege was ready to use all four of his remaining timebank cards. When he used his third timebank card, a player was eliminated at another table, but there was no other elimination, and Rege called at the last second.

Gianas Rege: AK All in
Gianfranco Iaculli: 44

Rege did not manage to get the pay jump or win the flip, as the full board ran out 59682, and he exited the tournament.

Hasler Busts to Camosci's Aces

Niveau 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Kevin Hasler
Kevin Hasler

Enrico Camosci raised to 12,000 from middle position and Kevin Hasler three-bet to 36,000 from the button. Camosci then four-bet to 80,000 and Hasler called.

The flop ran out 1058 and Hasler led by shoving all in for around 200,000. Camosci quickly made the call and players turned their cards.

Kevin Hasler: AK All in
Enrico Camosci: AA

Hasler had the nut flush draw, but his overcards were dead to Camosci's aces. The turn came the 4 and both players stood up. The river came the 10 and Camosci held to win the pot, chipping up to around 700,000 and sending Hasler to the exit.

"Worst flop ever," said Hasler as he left the table.

Mack Spikes a Flush to End Naveiro's Tournament

Niveau 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Adrian Mack
Adrian Mack

Adrian Mack raised to 13,000 from middle position before Sylwia Studniarz three-bet to 30,000 on the button. Inigo Naveiro four-bet shoved from the small blind for 132,000 and only Mack called.

Inigo Naveiro: JJ All in
Adrian Mack: AJ

Naveiro was a great position to double-up with pocket jacks if he could fade an unfortunate runout.

The 6K9 flop provided Mack with a flush draw, but the 9 on the turn meant only a river spade or ace would end Naveiro's Main Event. The 2 dropped on the river to give Mack the winner with a flush, sending Naveiro to the rail.

Alessandro Pichierri

Action was on the turn on a board of 3A210 with around 300,000 already in the pot. Alessandro Pichierri bet 105,000 and Alexander Ivarsson called.

The river came the 9 and Pichierri moved all in for 250,000, sending Ivarsson deep into the tank. After getting the count and using a couple of time bank cards, Ivarsson threw in a chip to make the call.

Ivarsson showed AQ for a pair of aces, but Pichierri had A10 for two pair, aces and tens to win the pot, near doubling his stack to over one million and sending Ivarsson to the rail.
