North Dakota’s Denise Hager was excited to learn about the live updates and told PokerNews that she and Illinois' Kyler Boyer to her right had both flopped quads earlier in the event.
Overhearing the discussion, South Dakota’s Glenn Schaefers at the next table one-upped them as he revealed he had made quads twice in the first five hands.
He first flopped a set of deuces before improving to quads on the river. Next, he flopped a set of fives and predicted another rivered four of a kind before the dealer put out a fourth five on the turn.
After two decades of playing poker in Sioux Falls bars like Shenanigans, The Thirsty Duck and Woody's in Sioux Falls, Schaefers told PokerNews he has won $4,000 this trip with back-to-back victories in the Nugget nightly tournament.
