Slow Start but Players Sure to Trickle In

Play was scheduled to get underway at 13.00 local time here in Marrakech, but despite Barny Boatman making an early appearance the tournament clock says that just nine players are registered. It looks like tournament officials will hold off starting the tournament until there are a few more players in the building.

"The early bird catches the worm," we remarked to a passing Boatman.

The Marrakech Poker Open Main Event Gets Underway

Welcome to the Casino de Marrakech for the latest installment of the Marrakech Poker Open. Last year this event garnered 220 entrants, with 27 of them making the money. The winner, after a heads-up deal, was Portuguese pro Henrique Pinho who took home €35,800 for his efforts.

The Marrakech Poker Open got underway earlier this week, and has already seen stellar numbers fo its deep stack and bounty events, as well as the High Roller. In fact, the High Roller is still as yet unfinished. The three remaining players Fadhil Farag, Said El Yousfi and Phu Truong will reconvene after the conclusion of the Main Event today to settle the result there.
