De Meulder Loses Some

Niveau 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

We arrived on the flop as both blinds checked to Davidi Kitai on {6-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Kitai, presumably the initial raiser, bet 2,500 from under the gun. His neighbor Matthias De Meulder called and so did the small blind. The big blind folded.

The {2-Diamonds} on the turn saw the small blind and Kitai check. De Meulder bet 5,400 and just the small blind called, Kitai folded. The {5-Hearts} on the river saw the small blind check again. De Meulder shoved and the small blind called instantly for his last 9,100. De Meulder mucked as his opponent tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the flush.

Boeken Busts His Neighbor

Niveau 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken

The button opened for 1,200 and small blind Noah Boeken called. The big blind gave up.

Boeken lead for 1,800 on {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and the button called. The {K-Diamonds} hit the turn and Boeken checked. The button bet 3,800 with 11,800 behind. Boeken shoved and the button called.

Noah Boeken: {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Button: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The {2-Spades} river was a blank and Boeken added to his stack again, surpassing the 100,000-mark.

Minten Gets There

Niveau 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

A middle position raise to 1,000 prompted Niek Minten to three-bet to 2,800 from late position. The small blind cold four-bet shoved for around 16,000. The big blind and initial raiser folded, Minten called.

Niek Minten was behind with {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} as his opponent tabled {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

The flop of {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop didn't do much for Minten but the {6-Hearts} on the turn made him frown as he picked up some outs. The {J-Spades} on the river was one of his two initial outs, and the small blind said his goodbyes.

Bart Spijkers Eliminated

Niveau 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Bart Spijkers' seat was empty and Spijkers himself was nowhere to be found. His former neighbors Jasper Wetemans and Rens Feenstra told us Spijkers was down to his last fourteen big blinds when he shoved with {Q-}{7-}. The player on the button called with {J-}{J-} and Spijkers found no help.

Spijkers still has the option to enter the MCOP, he can sign up before the start of Day 2 if he so wished. Wetemans and Feenstra, meanwhile, are both doing well with above average stacks.

Brummelhuis Takes Down Van Puffelen

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

We saw Marijn van Puffelen inquire about the option to reenter, and bombarded him with questions about how his exit had come about.

Michiel Brummelhuis opened from early position with a raise to 1,000 and Van Puffelen, his neighbor, three-bet to 3,500. The small blind flat called before Brummelhuis shoved for effectively 30,000. Van Puffelen called, the small blind folded.

Brummelhuis showed {K-}{K-} while Van Puffelen had to do with {A-}{K-}. No ace or other helpful cards on the board and Van Puffelen made his way to registration for bullet number two.

Heinze Hits the Rail

Niveau 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

We ran into Olvedo Heinze who was standing in the tournament area, talking to Raoul Refos.

Heinze told us how he lost his last twenty big blinds in a button versus big blind situation. Heinze had {A-}{Q-} but that hand proved no match to his opponents {A-}{A-}.

Before that, Heinze had lost a sizable portion of his stack with a set versus a rivered pair. "It all went downhill from there," Heinze said about the aftermath of the hand.
