Meirbekov Makes a Hero Call
Arun Sood was in middle position and had just opened and called a three-bet from Sultan Meirbekov, leading to a flop of A♣7♣6♣ with roughly 60,000 in the middle.
Both players checked the flop leading to the J♦ on the turn. Sood bet 50,000 and Meirbekov made the call.
Sood bet again for 75,000 on the 7♠ river, sending Meirbekov into the tank.
"Why so much? Do you have no showdown?" Meirbekov asked his opponent. Sood remained silent while Meirbekov weighed his options.
After a couple minutes Meirbekov flicked in the call.
"You win" Sood told his opponent, immediately mucking his hand.
Although Meirbekov did not have to, he revealed he had called with K♣K♦ despite three clubs and an ace being on the board and was awarded a sizable pot for his decision.
