Vanderveer Holds to Double Up
Niveau 10
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Action was picked up on the turn with roughly 14,000 in the pot and the board showing 3♣7♥8♣5♥.
Michael Vanderveer was all in for 74,600, and Miguel Martinez called to put him at risk.
Michael Vanderveer: 9♥8♥
Miguel Martinez: 9♣7♣
Both players had a flush draw, and it was Vanderveer ahead with his pair of nines, with Martinez needing a seven, heart to take the pot, or a non club six to chop the pot. But the river was the A♠ and Vanderveer still had the best hand to double up and take the sizable pot.
