Muehloecker and Kisacikoglu Eliminated

Niveau 21 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Thomas Muehloecker
Thomas Muehloecker

All of the action has been focused at one table with three all-ins in a matter of a few minutes. First, it was Mustapha Kanit adding to his lead by eliminating Thomas Muehloecker in 16th place.

A couple of hands later, Joao Simao raised to 375,000 on the button and Daniel Dvoress three-bet to 1,300,000 in the big blind. Simao four-bet shoved all in for 7,680,000 and Dvoress called. Simao turned over {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and was flipping against the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} of Dvoress. The board ran out {k-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Simao held on for the full double up.

In the very next hand, Orpen Kisacikoglu found himself at risk for around 3,000,000 with pocket nines against the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Adrian Mateos. The flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} had Kisacikoglu out front, but the {a-Hearts} on the turn paired Mateos' ace. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Kisacikoglu headed to the rail in 15th place.

Queens Hold Up for Dvoress

Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Daniel Dvoress raised it up to 525,000 on the button and Justin Bonomo defended from the big blind. On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Bonomo check-called a bet of 900,000 from Dvoress.

The turn was the {a-Clubs} and Bonomo checked again. Dvoress bet 3,500,000 and Bonomo still called to see the {9-Diamonds} on the river. Both players opted to check the river and Bonomo turned over {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens. Dvoress tabled {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} for a pair of queens and scooped the pot.

The players and tournament staff have agreed to make the levels 45 minutes going forward in order to finish the tournament in a timely manner. The recent eliminations are Steve O'Dwyer, Aleks Dimitrov, and Gianluca Speranza.

Diaz on the Move

Niveau 23 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Guillaume Diaz just recently doubled through Joey Weissman after making the nut flush on the turn and he was back at it again against Joseph Cheong. Diaz opened to 725,000 from under the gun and Cheong moved all in for around 3,400,000 in the big blind. Diaz asked for a count and then made the call.

Guillaume Diaz: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Joseph Cheong: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Diaz remained in the lead with his pair of fives. The turn brought the {6-Diamonds} and the river was the {8-Hearts} as Diaz held on to eliminate Cheong.

Benjamin Pollak

Benjamin Pollak opened to 700,000 from middle position and Garik Tamasian three-bet to 3,575,000 in the big blind. Pollak used up a time extension and then shoved all in, prompting a snap-call from Tamasian for his remaining stack of 8,625,000. Pollak held {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} but ran into the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of Tamasian. The board ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Tamasian scored a double up.

A couple of hands later, Justin Bonomo raised to 1,000,000 on the button and Pollak defended from the big blind. The flop fell {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Pollak shoved all in for 1,825,000. Bonomo did some quick math in his head and then made the call. Pollak showed {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and was ahead of Bonomo's {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. The {2-Clubs} on the turn and the {4-Spades} on the river changed nothing as Pollak survived elimination.
