Leah Avoids Disaster

Niveau 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

The action was folded to the cutoff who raised to 1,800 and Mike Leah defended his big blind. The flop fell {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Leah check-called a bet of 2,100 from his opponent.

When the dangerous looking {9-Clubs} landed on the turn, Leah led out for 5,000, only to have his opponent raise to 13,000. Leah stuck around to see the lonely {2-Diamonds} on the river.

Both players checked and Leah pounded his {2-Spades} on the table face up. His opponent turned over {k-Spades}{9-Spades} for a pair of nines. Leah chuckled as he flashed his other card, the {3-Spades}, avoiding a flush over flush scenario.

Kiriopoulos Flops a Bike to Double Up

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

With around 4,000 in the middle and the flop reading {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Demosthenes Kiriopoulos checked from the big blind. His opponent bet 1,600 from the hijack and Kiriopoulos pushed all in for 14,900. His opponent thought for a minute, shrugged his shoulders, and tossed in a call.

Kiriopoulos flopped a straight with {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, leaving his opponent drawing slim with {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The turn was the {8-Hearts} providing a sweat, but the {5-Hearts} on the river sent a full double up towards Kiriopoulos.

Luc Greenwood
Luc Greenwood

With around 11,000 in the pot preflop, the board read {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}. Mike Farrow led out for 3,600 from the big blind and Lucas Greenwood called from the cutoff.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and both players checked to the {3-Clubs} on the river. Farrow checked again and Greenwood made a bet of 12,000. Farrow called and Greenwood turned over {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a missed straight draw, and Farrow took the pot with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

In the next hand, Greenwood opened to 1,500 from the hijack and Farrow three-bet to 4,300 from the small blind. With the action back on Greenwood, he shipped all in for around 24,000. Farrow quickly called and the hands were tabled.

Mike Farrow: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Lucas Greenwood: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Farrow's pair of jacks held up to eliminate Greenwood.

Late Entries

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

A couple of players to register over the dinner break include Kevin MacPhee, Mike Leah, and Thomas Taylor. Leah was already questioning when the promotional high-hand draws would take place, which will be at the next break.

"I have to stay here that long?" Leah questioned with a laugh. He will need to make his chip stack last long enough to be eligible for the draws.

Easy Call for Lindsay

Niveau 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Faced with a raise to 1,300 from early position, Katie Lindsay stuck in a three-bet to 3,000 from middle position and was called by the cutoff and the initial raiser.

The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and the action was checked to Lindsay who continued for 3,000. The cutoff moved all in for around 13,000 and the player in early position folded. Lindsay instantly tossed in a chip to call and the hands were tabled.

Lindsay was well in front with {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}, while her opponent showed {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The turn brought the {k-Clubs} giving Lindsay a full house and her opponent was drawing dead to the {3-Spades} on the river.
