Dvoress Doubles Through Negreanu

Niveau 5 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Daniel Negreanu raised to 10,000 from the button and was called by Daniel Dvoress in the big blind.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, Dvoress quickly check-called the 8,000 continuation-bet of Negreanu.

The turn brought them the {a-Clubs}, Dvoress checked again.

"Okay, I'm going to do something goofy" Negreanu said and then flicked in a chip of 5,000 for the bet.

Dvoress raised to 31,500.

"That was to be expected" Negreanu remarked before making the call while he discussed his bet sizing with Matthias Eibinger.

The river completed the board with the {2-Hearts}.

"Well, that river doesn't change anything" Negreanu commented.

Dvoress bet 50,000.

Negreanu looked at Dvoress' stack and commented: "So you bet 50,000, so you look strong! Negreanu then decided to shove. The dealer counted out Negreanu's stack which was worth 194,500.

"What have you got? I thought you said that the river didn't change anything?!" Dvoress wondered.

Dvoress tanked: "I actually do have a flush..."

After using all four of his remaining time bank cards, Dvoress decided to make the call for the 152,000 he had behind.

"Flush," Negreanu said and showed the {8-Clubs}.

"You win," Dvoress said and then showed the {10-Clubs} which was the higher club.

"What do you mean? Negreanu asked.

"Oh, I somehow thought you had the higher flush" Dvoress apologized.

Dvoress showed the {k-Hearts} and Negreanu showed that his second hole card was the {10-Spades} for them to confirm that Dvoress was really the winner of the hand and would double up.
