Alexandre Pruneau Eliminated In 23rd Place ($3,550)

Niveau 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Alexandre Pruneau
Alexandre Pruneau

Steven Fandozzi opened on the button for 25,000 and Alexandre Pruneau moved all in from the small blind for 215,000. The big blind got out of the way and Fandozzi made the call to put Pruneau at risk.

Alexandre Pruneau: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Steven Fandozzi: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{q-Spades}, giving Pruneau two-pair but unfortunately for him made Fandozzi a rivered straight to send the Canadian to the exit in 23rd place.

PN Podcast: Postle Back in Poker & Guest Mori Eskandani Remembers Shares Mirage Stories

Niveau 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.

Doddapaneni Wins 2 Million Chip Pot

Niveau 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Sriharsha Doddapaneni
Sriharsha Doddapaneni

The action was picked up in a pot of roughly 80,000 on a flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Sriharsha Doddapaneni bet out 55,000 from the small blind and Iliodoros Kamatakis raised to 150,000 from the big blind. Doddapaneni made the call and the {3-Hearts} hit the turn.

Doddapaneni checked to Kamatakis who elected on a sizing of 250,000. Doddapaneni pondered for a few moments, but eventually made the call.

On the {k-Spades} river Doddapaneni checked again and Kamatakis moved all in for over 500,000, which Doddapaneni snap-called with the bigger stack. Kamatakis mucked his hand and Doddapaneni tabled {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a full house to take down an over two million chip pot.

Simultaneously on another table Tamas Adamszky was eliminated in 24th place.

Barnes Busts Chen to Cross 1 Million Mark

Niveau 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action was heads up with over 150,000 in the pot and {4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} on the board when Allan Barnes checked before Andrew Chen bet 158,000 leaving 2,000 behind. After a long tank, Barnes flicked in a chip to call and turned over {a-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a pair of fours. Chen had the dusty {k-Spades}{5-Spades} and Barnes took the huge pot with fours and deuces.

On the next hand, Chen was committed for his last 2,000 in the big blind and Barnes was the only suitor from the small blind. Chen turned over {7-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Barnes had {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Chen was out of the tournament.
