Shakerchi Jams Into Thanarattrakul

Niveau 14 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Talal Shakerchi
Talal Shakerchi

In a three-bet pot to the {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, Talal Shakerchi came along in the hijack after Kannapong Thanarattrakul had reraised to 47,000. Shakerchi opted to check and Thanarattrakul continued for 30,000, earning a call from the Brit.

The same action repeated on the {j-Diamonds} turn for 80,000 and the {3-Diamonds} river was checked once more by Shakerchi. Thanarattrakul bet 75,000 only for Shakerchi to move all-in and force out the Thai.

Petrangelo Busts Hook and Heath

Niveau 13 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ben Heath
Ben Heath

The cards were already on their backs preflop with Chalie Hook and Ben Heath at risk of elimination, both being covered by Nick Petrangelo.

Chalie Hook: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Ben Heath: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Nick Petrangelo: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The two shorter stacks flopped top pair on {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades} while Petrangelo had a gutshot. Instead, the {k-Diamonds} turn and {k-Clubs} river improved Petrangelo to trips kings and he notched up a double knockout.

Hook Works on a Miracle Comeback

Niveau 12 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Chalie Hook
Chalie Hook

Fedor Holz had doubled through fellow late entrant Chalie Hook and that left the latter with fumes, as he was forced all-in out of the big blind next. Isaac Haxton limped the button and Holz did so from the small blind.

On the {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, Holz check-called for 5,000 and they checked the {2-Clubs} turn. Holz checked the {4-Spades} river and Haxton bet 9,000 to isolate.

Hook tabled the {9-Spades}{2-Spades} for a pair of deuces and Haxton had air with the {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Hook doubled after with {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} against Haxton's {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} thanks to a {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs} runout before he won a flip with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} against a low pair of Holz.

In the meanwhile, Sam Greenwood check-jammed a {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} river into Mike Watson who had bet 50,000 and sigh-folded with a dry smile on the face.

Chidwick Out; Shakerchi Back In

Niveau 11 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Isaac Haxton raised to 8,000 from under the gun and Justin Bonomo called from the very next seat. Stephen Chidwick then jammed for 53,000 out of the big blind and Haxton asked for a count to fold shortly after, while Bonomo called.

Stephen Chidwick: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Justin Bonomo: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Sevens were running hot once more as Bonomo instantly flopped a set on {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}. The {j-Spades} turn left Chidwick drawing dead and the {a-Spades} river became a mere formality.

While one Brit departed, another appeared as Talal Shakerchi re-entered.

A Winner Will Be Crowned in the 2023 PCA $100,000 7-Handed High Roller

Dan Smith

The final day of the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure has arrived and no fewer than nine different tournaments will determine a winner in the Grand Ballroom at the Baha Mar Resort on The Bahamas. Among them is also the $100,000 7-Handed High Roller, which has so far attracted a field of 22 entries and ensured a prize pool of more than $2.1 million already.

The late registration remains open for the first two 30-minute levels as of 12.30 pm local time and it is expected that several High Roller regulars will jump in to increase the field size. They will receive 150,000 in chips with recommencing blinds of 2,000-4,000 and a big blind ante of 4,000 for level 11.

Canada's Daniel Dvoress tops the leaderboard with 604,000 and Dan Smith (581,000) is a mere six blinds behind. Kathy Lehne completes the overnight podium with 459,000 in chips.

Also among the dozen Day 1 survivors to return to their seats are the 2023 PCA High Roller tournament winners Isaac Haxton (123,000) and Justin Bonomo (107,000) but they both have fewer than the starting stack at their disposal.

Among the candidates to potentially enter the fray are the $250,000 Super High Roller champion Sam Greenwood, runner-up Jean-Noel Thorel, David Yan, Artur Martirosian, and Chris Brewer to name a few candidates. Cary Katz, who was among the Day 1 casualties, had already registered last night but didn't take a seat yet.

Levels will continue with a duration of 30 minutes each for the remainder of the tournament and the high-stakes contest will play down to a winner today. The action gets back underway at 12.30 pm local time and the late registration closes at approximately 1.30 pm local time, after which the payout distribution will be revealed.

Stay tuned for all the High Roller action right here on PokerNews, as the live reporting team will be back on the floor to provide as many key hands as possible in this six-figure buy-in.
