Daniel Dvoress Eliminated in 6th Place ($320,900)

Niveau 18 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Juan Pardo raised to 135,000 from under the gun and Daniel Dvoress just called from the big blind, leaving himself with 60,000 chips behind. The flop fell {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Dvoress checked to Pardo who dropped in a bet of 100,000. Dvoress thought for over a minute before finally throwing his cards away.

On the next hand, Dvoress limped in from the small blind and Pardo raised it up in the big blind. Dvoress called off the last of his stack and the cards were tabled.

Daniel Dvoress: {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Juan Pardo: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and Pardo made three aces to send Dvoress home in sixth place.

Haxton Picks Up Rockets to Double Through Dvoress

Niveau 18 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Daniel Dvoress opened to 110,000 in middle position and Isaac Haxton used a time bank before three-betting to 265,000 on the button. Dvoress followed suit in using a time bank before four-bet jamming for 1,615,000. Haxton snapped with a stack of 1,370,000.

Isaac Haxton: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Dvoress let out a groan as he saw he had run into aces and he received no help whatsoever from the runout of {3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Dvoress thought Haxton had him covered but a laborious count confirmed that he had a few chips left.

"Did I miscount? I would've flatted the three-bet," Dvoress lamented.

"I think you get to re-do the hand if you miscounted!" joked Seth Davies.

New Chip Leader Early On

Niveau 18 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

Adrian Mateos raised to 115,000 on the button and Juan Pardo defended from the big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Pardo check-called a bet of 75,000 from Mateos.

The turn brought the {7-Hearts} and both players checked to the {10-Hearts} on the river. Pardo checked again and Mateos sized up a bet of 450,000. Pardo used one of his time banks and then made the call. Mateos revealed {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a counterfeit pair while Pardo held {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for ace-high to scoop another pot.

Pardo Bringing the Heat Early

Niveau 18 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Mike Watson opened to 130,000 from early position and Juan Pardo three-bet to 300,000. The chip leader laid it down without a fight.

The next hand, Pardo opened to 115,000 from the cutoff and Seth Davies three-bet to 300,000 on the button. Pardo wasn't having any of that and four-bet to 650,000 after using a time bank, which brought a swift fold from the Oregonian as the Spaniard took a slight chip lead.

Who Will Capture the $100,000 PCA Super High Roller Title and Over $1.5 Million?

PCA Super High Roller trophy
PCA Super High Roller trophy

There are just six players returning to the table for the third and final day of the $100,000 PCA Super High Roller at the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in The Bahamas. The majority of the $4.5 million prizepool is still up for grabs with the winner walking home with a cool $1,545,080 and the coveted PokerStars trophy.

A total of 49 entries were recorded in this event and Mike Watson has been the clear chip leader over the course of the first two days. The Canadian poker pro from Newfoundland finished Day 1 with 830,000 chips and will be returning for Day 3 with 3,015,000 chips and the odds-on favorite. Watson already has over $16.6 million in earnings on his poker resume but another seven-figure score at one of the world's top poker spots would push him even further up the ranks.

He is followed closely by two Spaniards Juan Pardo (2,200,000) and Adrian Mateos (2,035,000) who have plenty to show for on their poker resumes as well. Not far in the distance are a couple of American high rollers, Seth Davies (1,870,000) and Isaac Haxton (1,645,000), who are also very well known on the poker circuit. Rounding out the remaining players is another Canadian, Daniel Dvoress (590,000), who will be looking to spin up his short stack.

The action is slated to get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time inside the Baha Mar Resort & Casino convention center. The blinds will resume on Level 18 at 25,000/50,000 with a 50,000 big blind ante. The levels will continue to be 60 minutes in length until just three players remain where the levels will be cut in half. Each player has locked up over $320,000 thus far but they will have their sights set on the first-place prize.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates en route to crowning a new champion later today.
