Isaac Haxton et Ben Tollerene se partagent le magot, un petit magot puisqu'il y a eu embouteillage de tournois dans la nuit de mardi à mercredi. Avecle Jour 2 du Main Event en parallèle, et beaucoup de joueurs ballas encore en course, le High Roller Pot Limit Omaha à 25 750$ a failli ne jamais démarrer.
D'abord prévu à 12 heures 30, le tournoi a été repoussé à 16 heures. A ce moment là, quatre joueurs se sont présentés : Haxton, Tollerene, Sean Winter et Lauri Varonen. Le quatuor a reçu 50.000 jetons et à commencer à jouer... personne ne les a rejoint.
Sean Winter s'est fait victimiser, les trois autres participants trouvant de grosses mains face à lui. Haxton va flopper un full aux Rois et check-raise à la rivière après que Winter ait trouvé un full aux 9 au tournant. Mis à mal, Winter va ensuite s'empaler sur un Full chez Varonen pour quitter la partie avant la fin du quatrième niveau (250-500).
Avec 4 joueurs en lice, deux places étaient payées (63,700$ pour le vainqueur et 34,300$ pour le runner-up). Le coup décisif va opposer Haxton et Varonen. Le Finlandais floppe Top 2 paires et trouve un tirage couleur au tournant alors que l'Américain a fait brelan au flop. Tout part au milieu et Haxton s'envole au chipcount tandis que Varonen passe en dessous du tapis de départ.
Il ne reviendra jamais. C'est Ben Tollerene qui l'élimine avec Bottom 2 paires au flop et un tirage quinte qui rentre. Avec ses 3 paires au flop, Varonen attend toujours son Full House...
Tollerene débute donc le head's up avec un très léger avantage... qui a disparu quelques mains plus tard. Le duo s'entend alors pour conclure le tournoi à l'ICM et c'est Haxton qui prend la gagne et quelques dollars supplémentaires fort de son avance de 11 00 jetons...

We came upon a big pot between Lauri Varonen (big blind) and Ben Tollerene (button). Varonen had bet 8,100 into a pot of around 12,000 on the end, with on the felt. Tollerene had raised to what looked like 30,000, and Varonen tanked a couple of minutes and mucked. Tollerene double-checked his cards before dragging the pot, and Varonen chuckled and patted the table.
