Salter Takes One From Alvarado

Niveau 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The Single Re-Entry Shot Clock is quickly becoming a family affair with father and son duo Dejan Boskovic and Dejan Boskovic Jr both playing, in addition to the UK’s Salter siblings Jack and Louis.

It is the latter sibling we are following in this particular hand however, with Louis choosing to defend from the big blind following a JC Alvarado cutoff raise to 5,100.

Salter checked the {5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop over to Alvarado, who quickly c-bet 4,500, which was quickly called to take the action to the {k-Spades} turn.

The action went check, check and did so again on the {8-Clubs} river. Salter rolled over {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for two pair and an unimpressed looking Alvarado pitched his cards into the muck.

Li Continues to Climb

Niveau 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Every time we walk past Shuo Li’s table he is involved in a big hand. We arrived on the flop with the board reading {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades} and over 50,000 already in the pot just as Aido (big blind) checked the action over to Li.

The clock ticked down to 4 seconds before Li slid in a bet of 16,000. Aido chewed over the decision but elected to call and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Diamonds}, which brought another check from Aido and another 30-second tank from Li, who eventually chooses to check it back.

The {4-Spades} river brought a third check from Aido and Li waited until there was just two seconds of time remaining before sliding out a bet of 42,000. This brought a speedy fold from the Spaniard and Li takes down another.

O'Dwyer back for More High Roller Mango Magic

Niveau 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Yu Liang and Fedor Holz bought back in on their second bullet, while HKD 400,000 Super High Roller champion Steve O'Dwyer just walked in with a fresh first stack. So far, the magic mango from the last few days has not been spotted yet, but O'Dwyer is looking to take down the third PokerStars Championship High Roller event in a row.

Liang and Holz Eliminated

Niveau 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

With around 70,000 in the middle and the board reading {10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Dan Smith checked out of the big blind and Fedor Holz moved all in from the cutoff for 41,800. Smith gave it some time and asked for the count, then eventually called for half of his remaining stack with just a few seconds left on his shot clock. Holz turned over {Q-Spades}{5-Spades} and Smith had that beat with {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}.

At the same time, Yu Liang and Manig Loeser clashed with the latter being the one at risk for 83,300 with {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Liang was well ahead with pocket sixes, but the board came {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} to give Loeser a set.

Down to 15,100, Liang shoved one hand later from the cutoff and Loeser called on the button. When the cards were tabled, Liang cracked up while spotting that Loeser had the exact same cards again with {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Liang had a flip with {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, but failed to get there on the board {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

Sylvain Loosli has been eliminated recently as well.

Li Rivers Kozlov; Attenborough Busts Quoss

Niveau 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

In a battle button versus small blind, Adrian Attenborough and Fabian Quoss got their stacks in and the former held {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} while Quoss had a coin flip with {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out blank, showing {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}, and Quoss headed to the registration desk in order to buy in for the second bullet.

At almost the same time on another table, Juicy Li was all in preflop for her last 92,800 with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and Martin Kozlov snap-called the four-bet shove with {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. The board of {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} gave Li a flush and she crossed her hands and thanked the poker gods.

Time Bank Confusion Heralds Chen Exit

Niveau 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
James Chen Departs
James Chen Departs

We are not sure what all of the pre-flop betting action was as we arrived just as James Chen had moved all-in for 79,000 in total from the button over the top of a Shou Li (big blind) raise of 28,000.

It’s a big decision and there are just 3 seconds left on the clock before Li threw in one of his three time bank chips, but the dealer forgot to restart the 30-second clock. Fortunately, Sergio Aido is on hand to press the button and Li nearly burns through all of his extra time before throwing in the call and the cards are turned over.

James Chen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Shuo Li: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop brings no help for Chen and the {j-Clubs} turn leaves the Taiwanese high-stakes cash specialist drawing to the decks four remaining queens. Unfortunately for Chen the river is the {7-Diamonds} and it does not look as though he fancies a second bullet.

Lose one Extra Time; Win a Flip

Niveau 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A raising war broke out between Jack Salter in the small blind and Georgios Zisimopoulos in the big blind. Eventually, Salter had squeezed to 31,200 before Zisimopoulos then moved all in with the superior stack. Salter used one of his time bank extensions and then called all in for his last 85,800.

Jack Salter: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Georgios Zisimopoulos: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{J-Spades} and Salter doubled, then joked "it is Asia, you don't mess with the snowmen."

Weis Busts Wang

Niveau 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We are now down to just a single Wang with the departure of Yang Wang. We arrived just in time to see the Chinese player move the last of his chips – around 63,000 – in on the river in a hand against Oliver Weis on a board reading {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} {4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Weis tanks hard and the shot clock has just 3 seconds left before the German player tossed in a single grey 100 calling chip.

Wang turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} but this was not enough to beat Weis’ {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and we lose one more. Wang still has the option of a second bullet but by the looks of things will not be taking it as he has packed his belongings into his bag and started walking towards the exit.
