Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

Anthony Zinno did his best to grind a short stack, and he finally found a good spot getting {a-}{k-} in against an opponent who held {a-}{q-}. Unfortunately for Zinno, a queen appeared on the flop, and he was eliminated in short order.

Dvoress Takes One From Finger

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Martin Finger completed the blind, and Daniel Dvoress raised it up to 7,000 in the big. Finger called, and he check-called 6,000 on a {4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Both checked the {a-Spades} and {9-Diamonds}, and Finger announced king-high, tabling what looked like {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. That was quickly sent muckward when Dvoress flipped over {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Dvoress Sinks Karam on the River

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Byron Kaverman raised to 4,500 from under the gun and Daniel Dvoress called from the cutoff.

Fernando Karam was in the small blind and three-bet to 16,000. Kaverman thought for a while and eventually decided to fold.

Dvoress had a look at Karam's stack and eventually moved all in for about 60,000. Karam called for less.

Dvoress: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Karam: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The flop came {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, giving Dvoress some outs to make a straight, in addition to having two over cards.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, and Dvoress was left with an open-ended straight draw after Karam turned a set.

The river was the {k-Diamonds} to give Dvoress a straight, sending Karam to the rail.

Michael Carter Gets the Best of Marcelo Filartiga Villalba

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Michael Carter raised to 5,000 from middle position and Marcelo Filartiga Villalba three-bet to 11,700 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Carter, and he called to see the {2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop.

Carter check-called a bet of 12,700 and then both players checked the {K-Spades} turn. Carter checked for a third time when the {7-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, but still called when Villalba bet 19,000. Villalba tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a full house and Carter flashed the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for sending his cards to the muck.

Kaverman: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Diotte: {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The flip went Kaverman's way: {8-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

Small Pot For O'Dwyer

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Steve O'Dwyer opened for 5,000 under the gun and just his left neighbor called. Both checked the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop and the {6-Diamonds} hit the turn. With four diamonds on board, O'Dywer checked again. His opponent bet 8,000 and O'Dywer called. Both then checked the {7-Hearts} on the turn and O'Dwyer showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. That was enough to take down the pot, his neighbor mucked.

Daniel Ades with the Old Stop and Go

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

With 84 players remaining in the tournament, Michael Lechs raised to 5,500 from the cutoff and action folded to Daniel Ades, who was sitting with just 16,000 total in the big blind. Still, he had 2,400 of it in already and opted to call the additional 3,100.

When the flop fell {3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Ades immediately went all in for 10,500 and Lech, who didn't seem too excited about it, debated what to do. Eventually he released his hand and the stop-and-go move worked for Ades, who flashed his {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.
