Vlado Banicevic Eliminated by Andreas Samuelsson

Niveau 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Vlado Banicevic
Vlado Banicevic

Over on table one, Martin Staszko raised to 8,500 and Vlado Banicevic three-bet to 22,500 from one seat over on the button. Andreas Samuelsson carefully checked his stack and took his time before moving all in. Staszko quickly folded, but Banicevic eventually called after more than two minutes.

Vlado Banicevic: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Andreas Samuelsson: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Samuelsson completed a full house. The stacks were counted and the Swede had 123,600, his opponent was covered by only two big blinds. Banicevic left the table with a few curse words and the field will now combine to one table when the hand at the other table is finished.

Thompson Next to Fall

Niveau 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Steven Thompson

Only a few minutes after the elimination of Martin Kabrhel, table one lost yet another player. Vlado Banicevic raised to 6,500 from the cutoff and Steven Thompson moved all in from the small blind for what looked like 41,600. Jonas Lauck folded in the big blind and Banicevic quickly called.

When the cards were tabled, Banicevic turned over his {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Thompson first revealed the {A-Spades} and then sweated his second hole card, it was the {3-Diamonds}. Despite picking up some additional outs with a gutshot, the board ran out blank showing {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}, to eliminate Thompson.

"What can I do", the Costa Rican said and headed to the rail. There are just 11 players remaining and the field will be combined to one table once down to the last nine.

Kabrhel Loses Flip to Lauck

Martin Kabrhel

Jonas Lauck raised to 6,500 from the hijack and Martin Kabrhel moved all in for around 72,000 from the small blind. Lauck gave it some consideration and called to put Kabrhel at risk.

Martin Kabrhel: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Jonas Lauck: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Lauck, who had re-entered before the start of Day 2 and doubled twice with ace-king, this time dodged it with the board running out {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. "Good luck guys," Kabrhel said and left the table, reducing the field to the last 12 hopefuls.

Neuville Loses Flip to Katchalov

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

Viliyan Petleshkov opened the action with a raise to 4,500 from under the gun and Pierre Neuville moved all in for just under starting stack from the button. Eugene Katchalov peeked at his cards in the big blind and moved all in to isolate. Petleshkov shook his head and got out of the way to see yet another coin flip take place.

Pierre Neuville: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Eugene Katchalov: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The flop came {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Katchalov improved to a pair of aces. After a blank {5-Spades} turn and {4-Hearts} river, the second big name was sent packing early on.

ElkY First Casualty on Day 2

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

The registration has closed, and the remaining players were balanced on three tables.

Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was the shortest stack coming back and he was at risk after just two hands. Aviv Meiri raised to 5,500 and Vladimir Troyanovskiy called from two seats over in the cutoff. ElkY moved all in for 20,900 out of the big blind and both opponents called.

The flop of {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} went check, check, and Meiri also checked the {7-Clubs} turn. Troyanovskiy made it 30,000 to go and that forced a fold from Meiri.

Bertrand Grospellier: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Vladimir Troyanovskiy: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

Only one of the two remaining queens could help Grospellier, but the {5-Hearts} river was a blank to send the first player to the rail.

Czech Poker Pro Martin Kabrhel among big stacks heading into Day 2
Czech Poker Pro Martin Kabrhel among big stacks heading into Day 2

In two hours from now at 5 p.m. local time, Day 2 of the 2017 PokerStars Festival Rozvadov €5,300 King's High Roller will get underway. The priciest event of the festival at the King's Casino attracted a field of 33 entries thus far, including 28 unique players and five reentries, and that number is expected to grow still.

The registration at the casino near the border to Germany, also known as "RozVegas" and host of the upcoming World Series of Poker Europe later this year, remains open until the first card is dealt in level 12 at blinds of 1,000-2,000 with a running ante of 300. All new entries will receive 50,000 in chips, good enough for 25 big blinds, and among those expected to join the action again are [Removed:197] and Steven Thompson.

Vladimir Troyanovskiy bagged up the most chips of the 15 survivors with 203,300, followed by 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event runner up Martin Staszko (187,300) and Aviv Meiri (173,200). One of the most vocal and active players was Martin Kabrhel, who had to fire two bullets and experienced a roller coaster day, eventually claiming 148,300 for Day 2. Tomas Soderstrom follows less than an ante behind with 148,200 while other notables include Marcin Chmielewski (137,500), Eugene Katchalov (111,000), Andreas Samuelsson (92,000), Pierre Neuville (50,400) and PokerStars Team Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (21,500).

The tournament is scheduled to play down to a winner today, and the PokerNews live reporting team will be there to cover all the action. Day 1a of the €1,100 Main Event also gets underway at 4 p.m. local time and you can follow the updates here.
