Vang's Kicker is Inferior

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Kou Vang was down to just 61,000 chips and ripped all in from early position. Rory Jennings was in the big blind and gave it some thought before making the call.

Kou Vang: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Rory Jennings: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Jennings was in a dominating position and the flop of {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} left it that way. The {7-Clubs} on the turn provided some chop outs but the {3-Clubs} on the river spelled the end for Vang.

Belcastro Busts Ahead of Bubble

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Richard Belcastro open-jammed a short stack and was called by the bigger-stacked Adrian Chabbi.

Richard Belcastro: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Adrian Chabbi: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The flop landed {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} to have Belcastro drawing thin before the {4-Hearts} turn had him drawing dead. The {a-Diamonds} river improved Chabbi to a full house and Belcastro hit the rail a few spots off the money.

Zamani Folds Queens Correctly; Marques Plays Jack-Four

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Martin Zamani
Martin Zamani

Andre Marques opened to 20,000 from under the gun and Martin Zamani called from middle position. Daniel Stancer, with 101,000 behind, went into the tank and the clock was called. He folded when time ran out. Luca Venturini then called from the big blind.

Marques continued for 20,000 on the {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and both of his opponents called. The turn brought in the {6-Diamonds} and Marques fired out another 75,000. Both players folded.

"You show if I show?" asked Zamani and Marques agreed.

Zamani tabled his {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} to show he folded the overpair. Marques then flashed a {j-Diamonds} which was followed by the {4-Diamonds} which meant Marques turned the flush.

The table had a little laugh after seeing Marques' hand.

Ausmus Increases Stack

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jeremy Ausmus
Jeremy Ausmus

Jeremy Ausmus was in the small blind and played a big pot against Platinum Pass winner Amel Husnic with the board reading {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}.

With around 275,000 already in the middle, Ausmus bet 70,000 on the flop and Husnic called. The {a-Clubs} landed on the turn and Ausmus thought for over a minute before betting 120,000. Husnic laid it down to win Ausmus the pot without a further fight.

"We Bust the Champ"

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Espen Jorstad
Espen Jorstad

Pedro Marques raised it up from early position and Espen Jorstad called from the big blind as the short stack. The flop came {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Jorstad bet 25,000. Marques raised and Jorstad called off his last 4,000 chips.

Espen Jorstad: {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Pedro Marques: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Jorstad was upset to see that exact hand from Marques as his outs were limited to just two. The {a-Spades} on the turn left the WSOP Main Event champion drawing dead to the {10-Clubs} on the river.

"We bust the champ, we bust the champ," Mustapha Kanit started chanting as his good friend Jorstad was eliminated.

Haxton Continues Heater With 2023 PCA $100K Super High Roller Victory

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

There was another great High Roller victory for Isaac Haxton in the PCA $100,000 Super High Roller, winning over $1,000,000 after a three-way chop.

The American made an ICM deal with Seth Davies and Adrian Mateos, and came out on top as the trio played it out to decide the victor.

This result came less than a week after another High Roller victory in Las Vegas, with Haxton calling it a fantastic start to the year.

"I don't think I've ever won two tournaments in a row before, and these are pretty good ones to do it in," Haxton told PokerNews in a winner's interview. "So yeah, I'm feeling great. This is a fantastic start to the year."

"I'm a Whale!": Chamas Gets There to Eliminate Oliver

Niveau 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Rayan Chamas
Rayan Chamas

In a hand that extended a few minutes into the first break, Chris Oliver moved all in for around 180,000 and Rayan Chamas went deep into the tank for several minutes as the rest of the tabled headed off to break.

"How much does the money matter to you?" Chamas, who has played the tournament with a plush snake wrapped around his neck, asked as he tried to get a read on Oliver.

"It wouldn't change it too much. Not as much as that guy!" Oliver said as he pointed to the seat of Glen Craigen, who recently secured an unlikely triple-up as he approaches what he told PokerNews would be a life-changing score.

Chamas eventually called to put Oliver at risk.

Chris Oliver: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Rayan Chamas: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

"I'm a whale!" Chamas cried when he saw he was in bad shape. Chamas got some help from the {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{q-Clubs} flop but it was the {a-Spades} turn that gave him a huge lead before the {3-Hearts} river bricked off to mark Oliver's elimination.
