Holz Doubles with Broadway

Niveau 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Lucas Silva raised from the cutoff and called when Fedor Holz moved all-in on the button for 870,000.

Fedor Holz: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Lucas Silva: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Holz picked up a straight draw on the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, which was quickly completed on the {q-Spades} turn. The river {j-Hearts} changed nothing, as Holz scored the early double up.

Chamas Sees Aces Cracked

Niveau 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Eduardo Pereira opened to 80,000 from the cutoff with {k-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Rayan Chamas flatted on the button with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

The action went heads-up to the {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, with Pereira check-calling a bet of 60,000 from Chamas.

Pereira spiked broadway on the {q-Hearts} turn and checked again, while Chamas slowed down with a check to the {3-Hearts} river.

Pereira led out for 250,000 and was paid of by Chamas, who quickly saw that his aces were no good against Pereira’s straight.

Silva Runs Out of Chips

Niveau 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

The action folded around to Tony Tran in the small blind who shipped all in. Lucas Silva was in the big blind and called off his stack of around 240,000.

Lucas Silva: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Tony Tran: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The flop came {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Tran picked up a pair of kings to cement his lead. The {8-Hearts} turn and {k-Diamonds} river were of no help to Silva and he was bounced from the tournament in the first level.

Marcello Del Grosso
Marcello Del Grosso

Marcello Del Grosso opened from under the gun and was called by Renato Minicuci on his direct left. Philipe Pizzari called from the big blind as well.

Del Grosso continued for 95,000 on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Spades} flop and only Minicuci called. On the {3-Diamonds} turn, Del Grosso sized up to 260,000 on the turn and again Minicuci called.

The {5-Diamonds} river prompted Del Grosso to continue the aggression, and he put another 525,000 in the pot. After some thinking time, Minicuci gave up.

"This American Doesn't Believe Any of You Euros"

Niveau 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Tony Tran
Tony Tran

Tony Tran opened to 80,000 from middle position and Fedor Holz three-bet to 225,000 from the next seat. Mehdi Violleau then four-bet jammed a stack of around 400,000 from the small blind and Tran quickly five-bet jammed for around 1,200,000 to send Holz deep into the tank.

"Fedor, can you take like one minute so I can go get water?" asked Nacho Barbero as he darted away from the table. Holz obliged and put out two 30-second time banks but soon found him grabbing several more as Tran grew impatient.

"How many does he got?" Tran grumbled before Holz folded.

Mehdi Violleau: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Tony Tran: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Violleau had Tran pipped and nothing changed on the {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Spades} runout to earn Violleau the pot as Holz revealed he folded jacks (the stream later confirmed Holz indeed folded {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}).

"Thank you Fedor!" said Violleau.

"You guys should be happy," said Tran. "This American doesn't believe any of you Euros."

Jared “BeamDoctorPoker” Halter Streams PokerStars Platinum Pass Invitational Victory

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Jared Halter
Jared Halter

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) is happening now, and later this month the PokerStars Players NLH Hold’em Championship (PSPC) will take place January 30-February 3. One man who headed to the Bahamas is 41-year-old Jared “BeamDoctorPoker” Halter, who won a Platinum Pass on PokerStars Michigan.

“I won a PSPC Platinum Pass on Wednesday, November 9,” Halter told PokerNews. “I had just returned from Vegas that morning on a red eye flight and slept for four hours on a friend’s couch before I drove home for two hours. To be honest, I was very fortunate to win because I had a very rough 72 hours. Some things happened in Vegas that caused me to have anxiety attacks for the first time in my life and I ended up only sleeping about five hours total in the previous 48.”

He continued: “I was exhausted and when the MTT started, I said to myself, it will take a miracle for me to win. Funny enough, I mis-clicked two different times early in the tourney and called three-bets with hands like 85o (I did not win those hands). I streamed the tourney, and only single tabled it, because of how tired and ungrounded I felt from the previous time. During the stream, I talked about how exhausted I was and how there was almost zero chance I win. Of course, as we know, the universe had a different plan.”

Maquillon Wins a Flip

Niveau 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Omar Del Pino raised from early position and called when Esteban Maquillon shoved for 860,000. The rest of the table folded, leaving Maquillon at risk heads-up.

Esteban Maquillon: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Omar Del Pino: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Maquillon was trailing until the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop gave him top pair. Del Pino could not hit the {a-Diamonds} turn or {j-Diamonds} river, giving Maquillon the double up.
