Day 1 of the PokerStars WCOOP-56-H: $2,100 NLHE [8-Max, Super Tuesday SE] has come to an end with 54 players making it through to the final day to battle it out for a bigger share of the $772,000 prize pool. The tournament originally had a $750,000 guarantee set which attracted 276 unique players who reentered 110 times to get to a total of 386 entries.
Claiming the Day 1 chip lead is Mathias "Cashcid Linc" Maasberg with 1,878,814 after bursting the bubble at the end of the day when he took out "Sintoras" and Leonard "Gerritss" Gerritss. Following Maasberg in the top five are "kimokh" (1,710,754), Enrico "WhaTisL0v3" Camosci (1,647,714), Thiago "KKremate" Crema (1,495,754), and Teun "tinnoemulder" Mulder (1,479,658).
But with a pretty sizeable field still left, there are still loads of notable players in the race for that first-place prize of $140,595. Poker stars like Ludovic "ludovi333" Geilich, Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson[/b], Niklas "Lena900" Astedt, Simon "Igorkarkarof" Ronnow Pedersen, and Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker have all bagged an above average stack.

With players getting the possibility to reenter up to three times, they weren't scared of getting their chips in, and by the end of the registration period, there were 165 players left to fight for a spot in the money.
Recent WCOOP winners like Christopher "lissi stinkt" Frank, Andras "probirs" Nemeth, Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, Rinat "Zapahzamazki" Lyapin, Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver, Arsenii "josef_shvejk" Karmatckii, and Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos all busted before the tournament was two tables away from the bubble.
Camcosci took out Anton "Bomber&Granater" Wigg first and then Bert "girafganger7" Stevens to jump towards the top of the counts and stuck around in those regions. Mike "SirWatts" Watson, Thomas "MarToMchat" Boivin, Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi, Joao "Naza114" Vieira, and Gustavo "22ehnutzz" Mastelotto all busted before the bubble.
Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot had shoved with queen-ten and was looked up by Andrey "kot_spartac" Kotelnikov who held aces. Talbot hit two pair but Kotelnikoc rivered the flush to bust the Canadian. Joris "BillLewinsky" Ruijs then lost all his chips to Crema with the lower kicker. Maasberg then took out Gerritss and "Sintoras" when he flopped the straight for "Sintoras" to min-cash with the bigger stack for the day to come to an end.
When the players return on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:05 p.m. CEST, they will finish the last seven minutes of Level 21 which has a small blind of 10,000, a big blind of 20,000, and a running ante of 2,500. Level duration is slated to last 20 minutes throughout according to the tournament lobby and play will continue until a new WCOOP champion can be crowned.
