Kovalski Wins a Showdown Hand

Niveau 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Steve "Mr. Tim Caum" O'Dwyer won another solid pot when his {7-Spades}{6-Hearts} made the superior two pair on a board of {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} board to beat the {10-Hearts}{2-Spades} of Fabiano "Kovalski1" Kovalski, boosting his stack up to more than 2.5 million.

Kovalski won two blinds back in the following hand and another medium-sized pot then emerged.

O'Dwyer min-raised the button to pick up a call and Kovalski check-called for 101,600 on the {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. He did so again for 179,200 on the {q-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Spades} river was checked by both. Kovalski tabled the {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for queens and sevens, which was good enough to claim the pot.

Kovalski won the next two small pots and O'Dwyer then jammed out of the big blind to force a preflop fold from Kovalski.
