Grimes Gets There

Kirk Brown

Niveau 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

After an open to 3,800 and was called, another player three-bet to 15,000 and was called Frank Grimes while the rest of the table got out of the way.

The flop came out A♦A♥K♦ and the preflop aggressor stopped to think.

"How much do you have behind?" he asked.

"Not much, young man," Grimes replied, revealing he only had a little over 10,000 left.

After a few more seconds, the player begrudgingly set out a bet of 15,000 to cover Grimes, who quickly called to put himself at risk.

Grimes: A♠7♠ All in
Opponent: J♦J♠

Only a jack would lose the pot for Grimes, but the runout of 6♠2♦ was clean to score him the pot for the big double.
