Money Bubble

With 108 entrants, it was anticipated that 13 players would make the money and bag up for Day 2. However, after 22 hands of hand-for-hand play, both short stacks in the field were eliminated on the same hand.

First, Will Costantini knocked out the short stack at his table after turning a king and claiming the last 15,000 chips of his opponent. Meanwhile, at another table, Eric Bunch, who started the hand with 16,000 chips, found himself all in at the river but was eliminated by David McFeely, who held a flush. As a result of these two knockouts, only 12 players from the final flight made the money.

Typically, going all in pre-flop with pocket aces is a dream spot, but today proved otherwise for two players who hit the rail. First, Daniel Stone called an all-in bet from an opponent holding pocket aces against his king-ten. But Stone flopped trip kings, sending his opponent packing.

Next, poker vlogger Abby Merk found herself all in with pocket aces but faced a similar fate. Darol Rodrock called her four-bet jam with king-nine offsuit and managed to flop trip nines. Merk was unable to find an ace on the runout and was eliminated from the tournament.

All 21 players remaining in the field made the money and Day 2, thanks to Joe Graybill bursting the bubble. Graybill went all in pre-flop, holding ace-king against his opponent's ace-nine. Once the board ran out, Graybill improved to a pair of kings, securing his place in the money along with the other 20 players.
