The RunGood Poker Series returns triumphantly to The Atlantis Casino in Reno, Nevada. A grand total of nine events are spread across the six days of play here at the casino, with each event awarding a player an RGPS ring and most awarding NAPT Golden Player of the Series points. Today sees the first and the second flight of the $600 Main Event, which boasts a $150,000 prize pool guarantee. The winner of this event will win a ring, the money, a free seat to the Dream Seat invitational at Thunder Valley this December, and a boatload of points in the highly competitive NAPT Golden Player of the Series race.

Last time the tour came to this stop, the $150,000 prize pool was divided up by the final 33 players of the 291 original entrants. Billy Casey and Andrew Fredericks came to a heads-up deal that saw them both pocket $29,092 and Casey take home his first RGPS ring. Many faces will be looking to take their chances in the main event this week, including RunGood Ambassadors Conrad Simpson, Jamie Kerstetter, Corey Paggeot, Jules Cornelius, and Joe Stapleton. Other regulars looking to pop their heads in include Garry Gates, Jeffrey Day, Christopher Dupuy, and Adam Saven.

The NAPT Player of the Series race has seen some interesting shifts over the past few days. Michael Johns sits in first place with 129 points after winning his third ring in the Deepstack event. This creates an interesting dynamic as he cannot win the race because he already has a package he won in Tunica. Sitting behind him after she finished in third place twice is Janet Moore, who sits with 125 points, just inching ahead of Joey Gargiulo who had a first and a second place, now sitting with 120 points. Matthew Betti’s second-place finish in the Deepstack puts him in fourth place with 96 points and Jordan Cushman’s multiple final tables put him in fifth place with 86 points. It is still anyone (except Johns’) game and most of the series' points will likely be given through the Main Event.

Players will begin the tournament with 30,000 in chips with blinds beginning at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Levels will last 30 minutes each, with a 15-minute break after every four levels. Registration will remain open until the beginning of Level 9, after which the players will play until just 12.5% rounded up remain. Those players will bag up and return to play on Sunday at noon, where the levels will be upped to 40 minutes each. Those who do not find bags can fire as many bullets as they want on the following flights.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the Main Event updates.
