The tournament has just kicked off with ten players in their seats.
The tournament hasn't started yet as people are in the middle of the registration process as more players show up. Players like Chris Brewer, Stephen Chidwick, Phil Ivey, Seth Davies, Cary Katz, Mikita Badziakouski, Rene van Krevelen, and Jordi Urlings have already been spotted in the tournament room.
Welcome to the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl Europe festival from the Merit Hotel & Casino, Cyprus. Today sees the first of nine events get underway with Event #1: $25,000 Short Deck Hold'em.
The tournament gets underway at 2 p.m. local time, with discounted tournament fees for any player who registers before then.
Levels are 40-minutes with a 10-minute break every two levels. Registration and re-entries are permitted until the end of Level 9.
In short deck events, all bullets must go into play at the start of Level 8, with a 90-minute dinner break at the end of Level 6.
Today will play down to a final table of six, or until 1am. Day 2 will then resume at 1 p.m. local time.
As with many live poker tournaments these days, there will be a 30-second shot clock. Players will also have six 30-second time banks each day, with any unused time banks available the following day.
