Amiel Bluff Catches on River

Matthieu Hollaender opened to 3,200 under the gun and was called by Alexandre Amiel in middle position.

On the 2♠J♥9♦ flop, Hollaender continued with a bet of 2,200 and Amiel called.

The 4♣ rolled off on the turn, and Hollaender slowed down, checking to his opponent. Amiel slid out a bet of 4,100 and Hollaender called.

The 2♥ river completed the board, and Hollaender led out with a bet of 11,500, with Amiel swiftly calling.

Hollaender showed Q♣10♣ for queen-high, having missed his straight draw, while Amiel had K♠J♠ for a pair of jacks, sending him the pot.

Weber Spikes River to Bust Berdaga

Vitalie Berdaga opened to 2,100 from early position and was called by an opponent, before facing a three-bet to 9,200 by Jean Weber on the button. Only Berdaga called.

On the J♠8♠10♥ flop, Berdaga led out with a bet of 10,000. Weber pondered the spot for a moment, before moving all in for around 30,000. Berdaga made the quick call to put himself at risk.

Berdaga was ahead with two pair versus Weber's overpair kings, and seemed set for the double-up after the 9♥ turn.

However the K♥ rolled off on the river to give Weber a set of kings, and on confirming he was covered, Berdaga said his goodbyes to the table and departed.
