Makawana Doubles Up With Queens
Niveau 11
: Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Dipak Makawana raised to 3,500 from under the gun and Lorenc Boci called on the button.
The flop came 5♠7♠4♠. Makawana checked, Boci bet 10,000, and Makawana moved all in for around 31,000. Boci deliberated and then made the call with the bigger stack.
Dipak Makawana: Q♠Q♦
Lorenc Boci: J♠J♥
Both players had flush draws along with their pocket pairs. The turn came the 7♦ and the river was the 8♥. Makawana held with his pocket queens to win the pot and double up his stack.
"I nearly folded," said Boci.
"It would have been a big fold," said a neutral player.
