Togerman Eliminates Pirlanescu

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Elhanen Togerman opened for 5,000 from the cutoff and Andrei Pirlanescu called from the big blind.

Pirlanescu jammed for 30,000 after the {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} came on the flop and Togerman, who had his opponent covered, snap called.

Andrei Pirlanescu: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Elhanan Togerman: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Pirlanescu had two pair but wasn't in the best of shape with Togerman holding the same two pair with a better kicker. It went from bad to worse for Pirlanescu after the {A-Spades} came on the turn as he was drawing dead before the {6-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Registration Closed

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Registration is officially closed in all flights of the Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event. Day 1a yesterday got 149 entries and Day 1b smashed that with 273 entries. We do have to wait for official confirmation but it looks like there are 170 entries in the final flight of the tournament.

If the numbers are correct it would bring the total number of players up to 592 which smashes last years 502 entries. It would also mean that it is nearly as big as the first Unibet Open held in Bucharest, which attracted 603 players.

Jorstad Doubles Fellow Norwegian Langfeldt

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Nicolay Langfeldt
Nicolay Langfeldt

Nicolay Langfeldt open-jammed from the cutoff for 18,000 before Unibet Poker Ambassador Espen Jorstad three-bet over-jammed for 49,000 from the button. Martin Wendt folded from the small blind as did Elhanen Togerman from the big blind.

Nicolay Langfeldt: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Espen Jorstad: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Jorstad was favored to eliminate his Norwegian countrymate before the flop and he wished him good luck. It turns out Langfeldt did get a little luck as he doubled up after he hit top pair on the {3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{J-Spades} flop.

Neither the {K-Clubs} on the turn nor the {K-Diamonds} on the river were of help to Jorstad and Langfeldt's tournament life was saved with a double-up.

Stoian Hits a Lucky Double

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Dan Cristian raised from the cutoff to 4,500 and the player on the button called. The small blind folded his hand but Ion Stoian moved all in from the big blind for his last 50,500. Cristian called and the player on the button folded.

Dan Cristian: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Ion Stoian: {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The flop was very good for Stoian when the dealer put down {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}. The turn added some chop outs with the {6-Hearts} and the {5-Diamonds} river gave Stoian the best hand with a flush.

Stoian punched the table with his fist as a celebration before he collected the pot and stacked his chips up.

Bogdan Triples with Aces

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Will Dorey open-jammed for about 170,000 from the button with two players holding short stacks in the big blinds. Damian Krauze was all-in from the small blind after he called his stack of about 30,000. Nicolae Bogdan called behind from the big blind with a stack of around 25,000.

Will Dorey: {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Damian Krauze: {A-}{10-}
Nicolae Bogdan: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

Bogdan was in prime shape to triple up with pocket aces. Neither Dorey or Krauze hit any part of the {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Bogdan tripled up.

Meanwhile, Krauze stayed alive by winning a smll side pot.

Sinclair Eliminated From Day 1b After Losing a Flip

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

Jack Sinclair has already had a decent festival with a ninth place finish in the Unibet Open Bucharest High Roller yesterday.

It didn't go as well for him in the Day 1b of the Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event.

Bogdan Diaconu opened for 4,000 from early position before Sinclair jammed for 13,000 from late position. The action folded back to Diaconu who quickly made the call.

Sinclair with {4-}{4-} was slightly ahead of Diaconu's {A-}{7-}. However, a {7-} appeared on the board and Sinclair hit the exit.

However, Sinclair's Main Event is not over. After his elimination, he quickly headed to the tournament registration desk and is back in action in the Day 1c field with a fresh stack of 30,000 in chips.

Tobias Peters
Tobias Peters

Day 1c - Blinds 500/1,000, Ante 100

Tobias Peters called from the small blind and big blind Nir Amar raised to 3,000 from the big blind. Peters called to see the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop appear.

Both players checked on the flop to see the {7-Clubs} turn roll off the deck and Peters checked again. Amar bet 4,000 this time and Peters called the bet.

The river was the {Q-Hearts} and Peters checked for the third time to Amar. Peters faced a bet of 6,700 this time and called again.

Amar opened up {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for king high and Peters took down the pot after showing {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Unibet Ambassador and Esports Sensation Scott "Sco" McMillan Eliminated

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Scott McMillan
Scott McMillan

Unibet Ambassador and esports sensation Scott "Sco" McMillan already won two side events this festival including the Tag Team Event and the Unibet Esports Battle Royale X. Unfortunately for McMillan and he will be unable to make it a trifecta with a Main Event title as he was eliminated in the following hand.

Cristian Cirtog opened for 5,000 from early position before McMillan three-bet jammed from the button to 34,100. The action folded to Cirtog who quickly made the call.

Scott McMillan: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Cristian Cirtog: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

McMillan was slightly ahead before the flop but that didn't last for long as a queen paired up his opponent on the {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop. Neither the {K-Clubs} on the turn or the {2-Clubs} on the river were able to save McMillan and he headed for the exit.
