Antoine Vranken has had a rough start into Day 1b and lost almost two third of his stack already. On nearby tables, such notables as UnibetPoker.fr ambassador Alexandre Reard, Mick McCloskey, Paul Leckey and Valentin Cristea have taken a seat.
Also in action is Jae Young Kim, who just won a decent pot in a three-way hand that also included Eoin O'Shea. Kim bet the river for 2,800 and O'Shea was the only one to call, rather reluctantly. Kim turned over the for a full house and that won the pot.

Matti Penttinen raised to 600 and was called by Pavao Veza in the small blind, while 2018 Unibet Open London champion Andreas Wiborg in the big blind got out of the way. Veza then checked the flop and Penttinen checked behind. On the turn, Veza checked and called a bet of 600 before the river was checked. Penttinen tabled the for a pair of kings and that claimed the pot.
New entries on nearby tables include Aurelie Reard and Dennis Kleinleugemors, who finished 5th in the €330 Deepstack Open Side Event yesterday.

With plenty of chips already in the middle and the turn showing , Andreas Vestre check-raised a bet of fellow Norwegian Erik Sverkholt to 3,800 and was called to then check the on the river. Sverkholt checked behind and Vestre announced jack-high without tabling his cards just yet.
Sverkholt turned over his for queens and nines, and Vestre mucked.

Apostol Beg topped a field of 66 entries to take down yesterday's €220 Side Event and has taken a seat right next to Unibet Poker ambassador Ian Simpson. Both were just involved in a hand that saw Beg check-call a bet of 1,000 on the turn and the on the river killed the action, as both players checked.
Beg showed for top pair and Simpson had the for a set of eights.
"You didn't like that card, huh?" fellow Brit Simon Griffin in the eight seat said.

It took until mid-way through level two for the first player to bust and [Removed:402] has been unfortunate enough to run out of chips on the same table as Gunnar Wedde, David Lappin and Quentin Lecomte. Wedde and Michael Conaty are the two current chip leaders on that table, the latter just taking on Lecomte in a bigger pot.
Lecomte had climbed back to more than the starting stack and defended his small blind against Conaty. On the river, Lecomte checked and Conaty forced a fold with a bet of 4,500 into a pot of 5,800. The Irishman, who final-tabled the Irish Open in 2016 (2nd place) and 2017 (8th place) is once again off to a good start on home soil.

There hasn't been any crazy action in the first two levels just yet, but the second all in showdown just took place over on table three. Joris Hermans had reraised to 1,500 and Daniel Pettersen then clicked it up to 3,500. Hermans moved all in and Pettersen snap-called.
Daniel Pettersen:
Joris Hermans:
Petterssen had little to fear as he immediately spiked top set on the flop, and he locked up the double with the turn to make the river a formality. Petterssen doubled for 19,575 and Hermans' stack was cut down to one third of what he started with.
