Montrimas Doubles Through Hakala

Niveau 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Tomas Montrimas
Tomas Montrimas

Tomas Montrimas open-shoved for the last 57,100 and Ville Hakala from one seat over reraised all in, forcing out all other players on the table.

Montrimas showed the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and had a flip against the {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} of Hakala. The {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop and {7-Clubs} turn were of no help, prompting Montrimas to vault out of his chair. He immediately said back down after spiking the {A-Hearts} on the river and remained in contention.

Kron Bests Van Brabander

Niveau 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Charlotte Van Brabander
Charlotte Van Brabander

Julien Kron made it 6,000 to go from the cutoff and Charlotte van Brabander three-bet all in for her last 34,000 in the small blind, which Kron quickly called when it was his turn to act.

CharlotteVan Brabander: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Julien Kron: {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The Belgian was ahead preflop but fell behind on the {Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, and things got worse on the {8-Clubs} turn. Only two aces were left for Van Brabander, and the river was the blank {9-Spades}. Van Brabander will likely enter the €80+10 Queen Rules Side Event shortly, a Ladies Event hosted by Unibet Poker ambassador Daiva Byrne. So far, there are three tables running with a total of 25 entries.

Huxley and Kevmath on the Rail

Niveau 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Kevin Mathers
Kevin Mathers

Phillip Huxley jammed first to act for what appeared to be 42,000 and Dara O'Kearney in the small blind asked for a count, then reshoved to isolate.

Huxley had the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and O'Kearney tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. On the {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, Huxley knocked on the table with the words "good hand" before grabbing his belongings. The Brit was drawing dead on the {3-Hearts} turn, which made the {4-Clubs} river a formality.

Kevin Mathers, to most simply known by his online nickname "Kevmath" as the ultimate source for all things poker on social media, also busted shortly after. He got it in with the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Richard O'Neill dealt the final blow with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. O'Neill flopped a queen and Mathers missed out on a gutshot to bust just before the blinds went up.

Vaaraniemi With Massive Stack; King Gone

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Greg King
Greg King

Patrick Clarke won two bigger pots to essentially double his stack and Elias Vaaraniemi skyrocketed to more than half a million in chips, dominating the field early on.

Greg King made the headlines for most of Day 1b before plummeting to an average stack, and he has just been eliminated by Pierre de Montesquiou. King jammed a {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and the Frenchman called with {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for top and bottom pair. The {8-Diamonds} turn was an additional sweat, but the {2-Diamonds} river blanked.

Nordli Busts in Three-Way All In

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Over on table one, three players ended up all in with Antoine Vranken as the biggest and Oystein Nordli as shortest stack.

Oystein Nordli: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Nicolas Torossian: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Antoine Vranken: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Spades} and Torossian nearly tripled up, while Nordli was eliminated.

Stokes From Short Stack to Hero

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Gary Stokes started the day with a mere 37,000, but has since turned that into massive 280,000. His latest all in showdown was a big one, as he got it in against Erik Bloma on a {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, holding the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for trips. Bloma held {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} for the full house, and could all but yell "fuck sake" when he saw the {J-Hearts} on the turn.

No miracle quads, but the blank {Q-Clubs} followed on the river and Bloma was gone.

Rauno Tahvonen is also no longer in contention. A few minutes ago he three-bet to 17,500 and folded to a shove, the remainder of his stack has since vanished.

Koivisto Takes a Hit; Keown Boosts Stack

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Daniel Pettersen started the day with an above-average stack but has since vanished and a quick look at his former table reveals a bigger stack for John Keown, who jumped further up in the top five overall.

Henri Koivisto lost yet another early all in on Day 2 when he looked up Ville Hakala for 45,400 with the {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Hakala was well ahead with {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and had little to fear on a board of {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}.

Alan "hotted89" Widmann has also doubled up soon after on the very same table, boosting his stack to 20 big blinds.

Price Bests Kristoffersson

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Daniel Price called the shove of Paul Kristoffersson with the {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and had a flip against {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The board came {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Price turned a set of nines to secure the knockout.

Dan Murariu and Martin Soukup were also among those to bow out, failing to add another Unibet Open title to their poker resume.
