Day 1 of Event #3: $25,000 No Limit Hold'em Gets Underway at 2 PM

The third event of the inaugural US Poker Open is set to get underway and the stakes have been raised. Following the opening two events, of which each had a $10,000 buy-in, Event #3 boasts the first $25,000 entry. Day 1 of Event #3: $25,000 No Limit Hold'em is scheduled to kick off at 2:00 P.M. PST inside the Aria Resort and Casino.

Poker Central and the Aria Resort and Casino have partnered again to bring some of the highest stakes action with the best players in the world taking their seats at the felt. A series comprised of eight events over the course of 11 days, features variants in no-limit hold'em, pot-limit omaha, and a mixed game championship.

The player to accumulate the most amount of money over the course of the series will be crowned the US Poker Open champion and will take home the prestige trophy.

Justin Bonomo is the front-runner after another impressive victory in Event #1, pocketing $190,400 for his efforts. Bonomo will surely be partaking in the festivities today, looking to add to his number leading up to the Super Bowl break. The final table of Event #2 will be taking place today at 12:00 P.M. local time. You can follow the action via the PokerNews live reporting blog or head over to PokerGO to catch the action on a 30-minute delay.

The structure for today will be similar to that of the opening no-limit hold'em event, with the only change being a starting stack increased to 125,000. The blinds will continue to be 30-minutes in length with a 10-minute break after every three levels. The action will continue until a final table of six is reached.

Players will be permitted two re-entries during the late registration period that will be open until the end of level 9. For those players registered on time, the tournament fee will be waived on their initial buy-in.
