Broadway for Greenberg

Niveau 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Sean Winter opened to 5,500 from under the gun and was called by Larry Greenberg on the button and David Peters in the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} and the action checked around to the {j-Spades} on the turn.

Peters checked again and Winter fired a bet of 15,000. Greenberg called and Peters let his hand go. The {a-Spades} landed on the river and Winter checked this time. Greenberg tossed in a bet of 25,000 and Winter called after declaring that he had a strong hand. Greenberg turned over {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a straight and Winter's hand wasn't strong enough to compete with Broadway.

Mateos Busts Pollak

Niveau 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

With around 45,000 in the middle and the board reading {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}, Adrian Mateos led out for 20,000 from the small blind. Benjamin Pollak was in the big blind and made the call.

The river brought the {10-Clubs} and Mateos shoved all in, putting Pollak to the test for his remaining 78,000. He thought for a moment and then stuck in the chips to call. Mateos rolled over {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for a flush and Pollak's cards hit the muck.

Katz Continues to Steamroll

Niveau 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz has gotten himself off to a good start in the opening levels of Event #5. He once again looked down a monster holding of {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} on the button. Before the action could be figured out, Katz and his opponent in the hijack were all in with the cards face up.

Katz was up against his opponent's {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and the flop of {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} was spread. However, the {a-Clubs} on the turn came as no surprise as Katz jumped out front. The {4-Hearts} on the river sealed the deal and Katz raked in another sizeable pot to move over 500,000.

Mateos Over 300K

Niveau 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Sean Perry opened from the hijack and was three-bet by Adrian Mateos on the button. The action got back to Perry who decided to risk all of his 70,000 some odd chips and it was a snap-call by Mateos.

Adrian Mateos: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Sean Perry: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Mateos was in a dominating position and the board ran out clean for him as he eliminated Perry on his second bullet of the day. Mateos has tripled his starting stack and sits with Cary Katz as the only two players over the 300,000 chip mark.

Bonomo's Set is No Good

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a flop of {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Justin Bonomo and Rainer Kempe got all of their chips in the middle with Bonomo being the player at risk. He did flop a set of fours with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} but was up against Kempe's flush draw with {10-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Kempe completed his flush. Bonomo would need the board to pair but the {8-Diamonds} on the river was of no help. Bonomo was eliminated but will surely be finding a new seat somewhere shortly.

Tollerene on Crumbs Again

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The board read {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Ben Tollerene led out from the small blind for 20,000 into a pot of around 45,000. Nick Schulman, who just took his seat during the break, used up a time extension before calling from the cutoff.

The {9-Diamonds} on the river paired the board and Tollerene shipped all in. Schulman burned through another time extension before sticking in the last of his 57,000 chips. Tollerene turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} while Schulman tabled {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} to rake in the pot.
