The Second and Final $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em Event of the USPO Kicks Off Today

Ali Imsirovic
Ali Imsirovic

The US Poker Open has reached its halfway point with the completion of Event #5 and we're getting close to the Main Event which kicks off on Friday, February 22nd. But before that, there are still 3 other events starting with Event #7: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em, the second and final of the $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em Events at the USPO.

The first of these two events was taken down by the young poker phenom, Ali Imsirovic. The youngster broke through into the high roller scene with a victory in a PCA side event in 2018 and there's been no turning back since then. Past that point, he had a victory at the Borgata Spring Open Main Event, two second places in Aria High Rollers last summer, and of course, he became the Poker Master's Champion as well, final tabling three events, winning two, and taking home the coveted purple jacket prize as well. Earlier in the week he took down Event $5: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em to put him in contention to become the US Poker Open champion as well, but he'll have a lot of catching up to do.

Imsirovic chases the likes of Sean Winter, Stephen Chidwick, and Jordan Cristos, all who have their own victories in events at the US Poker Open as well as several other cashes split between them. Chidwick currently leads Event #6: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha as well, so Imsirovic will have a lot of work if he wants to win this title as well. With just 4 events remaining, Imsirovic will have to put up some impressive performances to catch up, but he definitely has the skill set to do so. We're likely to see him come out firing today as well.

Here's a look at the schedule for the US Poker Open:
