Beyer vs Meyer Ends With a Count Out

Niveau 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Romain Meyer made it 125,000 to go from first position and only Christophe Beyer in the big blind made the call. Beyer check-called 120,000 on the {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop, and another 440,000 on the {K-Diamonds} turn.

The {J-Spades} prompted a third check from Beyer and a third bet from Meyer, this time a massive 700,000. Beyer went deep into the tank and was not to resurface before the dealer pulled the cards from his hand after time was called and the one minute passed.

Picard Stops the Bleeding

Niveau 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Wiliam Picard
Wiliam Picard

It's been a truly horrifying level for Wiliam Picard, who's lost every single encounter he's been in. Kaddouri was one of the players to benefit from this when Picard fired three barrels only to muck his hand when getting called.

A new chapter may be awaiting Picard, though, as he just got some back from Kaddouri. Picard moved all-in for his last 675,000 from the cutoff, Kaddouri called from the small blind and Sylvain Meriguet in the big blind quickly got out of the way.

Picard: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Mounim Kaddouri: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Spades} giving Picard the top pair and the pot of more than 1.4 million.

Gonzales Flops a Set

Niveau 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Hector Gonzales made it 130,000 to go from the button, and Wiliam Picard made the call out of the small blind. Hugo Larachiche in the big blind squeezed it up to 375,000, and both opponents called.

The {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop prompted a check from Picard followed by a bet of 475,000 from Larachiche. Only Gonzales called. Gonzales called another bet of 575,000 on the {J-Hearts} turn, bringing the pot up to more than 3 million chips. The river {10-Spades} was checked through, and Larachiche's {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} were no match for the flopped set of fives of Gonzales.

Francois Pirault Eliminated in 18th Place (44,000 MAD)

Niveau 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Francois Pirault is the first casualty of the day. The short stacked Frenchman ran {A-}{Q-} into the {9-}{9-} of Sliman Taghzouit, and as neither Queens nor Aces would make their way to the board, Pirault hit the rail.

17 players remain in the 2017 Winamax SISMIX Main Event, and they are all guaranteed a minimum of 50,000 MAD (€4,593).

Jerome Barre Scores the Early Double

Niveau 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Rakesh Lalwani opened to 125,000 from early position and a short stack Jerome Barre moved all-in for 465,000 total. Lalawani made the call with {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}, but Barre had picked up {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} at a crucial time and was way ahead. The {10-Hearts} in the door was good news for Lalwani, but the {K-Spades} to follow put Barre ahead. The board ran out {K-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Barre got the double.

Ready to Go

17 of the 18 remaining players have all taken their seats, and just chipleader [Removed:445] seems to be missing at this point time. Players are waiting for tournament director Thomas Gimie to get the show going. Play should be underway very shortly.

Five days of tournament poker will culminate tonight, as the 2017 Winamax SISMIX Main Event will play down to a winner at Casino de Marrakech at the Es Saadi Resort. The event drew an incredible 1,078 entries during the three starting days, but now only 18 remains in the hunt for the trophy.

The action will resume in one hour from now as of 1 p.m. local time with 37 minutes and 51 seconds left of level 25 and blinds of 30,000/60,000 and a running ante of 10,000. The average upon restart will be at a staggering 50 big blinds and the level duration for this final day will increase from 50 to 60 minutes each.

Leading the field into the final day is Moroccan [Removed:445] (7,400,000), who ended last night on a high note after flopping quads and taking out Sofiene Belaid in the biggest pot of the tournament so far. Following him is Japan's Kazuma Fujiyama (5,000,000), who yesterday was just a river card away from stone cold bubbling the tournament in a classic coin flip, but by pairing up on the river, he instead secured a double and never looked back.

Rounding out the top-5 are Hugo Larachiche (4,450,000), Hector Gonzales (3,700,000) and the biggest profile remaining in the tournament, former EPT Deauville runner-up Paul Guichard (3,500,000).

The very first player to fall short today will take home 44,000 MAD, while the remaining players are all guaranteed an additional 6,000 MAD. However, every player will be looking to make a deeper run in the Main Event, as a spot on the seven-handed final table will make for a payday of at least 130,000 MAD with a cool one million Moroccan Dhiram (€91,868) for first.
