Cano Flops the Flush to Crack Guichard's Queens

Niveau 20 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Former EPT Deauville runner-up Paul Guichard is still in the mix with 59 left at the SISMIX Main Event
Former EPT Deauville runner-up Paul Guichard is still in the mix with 59 left at the SISMIX Main Event

With more than 500,000 already in the pot after the flop {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, it seemed obvious for both Spanish player Cano to get his last 281,000 in on the {6-Spades} turn and for former EPT runner-up, Paul Guichard, to make the call. Cano had flopped the flush with {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, but Guichard with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} could still better his opponent by making a full house or the higher flush.

The river {3-Clubs} changed nothing, though, and the pot went to Cano.

Two in a Row For Taghzouit

Niveau 20 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The action folded around to Sliman Taghzouit in the small blind, and he completed the big blind of 20,000. Alexandre Luneau in the big blind checked his option, and the two of them saw a {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop. Both checked.

The {9-Spades} prompted a bet of 22,000 from Taghzouit, and Luneau quickly called, before Taghzouit fired another bullet of 77,000 on the {Q-Clubs} river. Luneau contemplated for a minute or more before making the call, but he couldn't beat the {Q-Spades}{5-Spades} of his opponent and quietly mucked his hand.

The very next hand Taghzouit got another one through, as he made it 50,000 to go from the button, Both blinds folded and the Frenchman flashed the {A-Diamonds} before raking in the pot.

Neither Kitai Nor Ndongue Will Lift the Trophy

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Emmeline Ndongue
Emmeline Ndongue

Players are still busting out rapidly, and among the latest casualties are Winamax Pro Davidi Kitai and former professional basketball player and Winamax VIP Emmeline Ndongue.

Kitai ran pocket fours into Paul Guichard's pocket nines and didn't get there, while Ndongue allegedly was eliminated holding {9-}{10-} against the top pair of an opponent. None the less it has been an impressive series for the Winamax VIP, who even had to use a cheat sheet of the different hand strengths on Day 1c.

Both Kitai and Ndongue will take home 12,000 MAD (€1,100).

Pirault Adds to His Pyramid

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Francois Pirault might not have the biggest stack in the room, but he does have the most impressive. He has built quite the pyramid already, and after shoving and getting a fold from Franck Lelong on a {4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board, he was able to add another layer worth 150,000 chips to the structure.

In other news, Kevin Droz has amassed a massive stack on his table, and are right now gunning for chip leader Romain Meyer.

Stand Up, Hit Straight, Sit Down

Niveau 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

You gotta have faith, sang the late George Michael, and though Olivier Piechaczyk seemingly didn't when he got out of his chair and packed his belongings, he was still awarded a little miracle as he doubled up through Alain Marty.

Piechaczyk shoved all-in preflop with {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Marty wasted no time calling with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The {4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} was not much of anything for the player at risk, but with a {8-Diamonds} on the turn and a {6-Spades} on the river, Piechaczyk rivered the straight, and the Frenchman was quick to get back in his seat and rake in the pot.
