Soverel Doubles With Jacks

Niveau 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

Wei-Hsun Lu had 84,000 over the line in the cutoff and was facing an all-in raise to 301,000 by Sam Soverel in early position. Lu thought about it and put in the chips for the call.

Sam Soverel: JJ
Wei-hsun Lu: AQ

The KJ8 flop gave Soverel a set and he just needed to fade a ten. The 5 turn and 7 river changed absolutely nothing and Soverel secured the double.

Minko Jams River

Niveau 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On a board of AQ2 Matt Glantz was first to act and led out for 35,000. The action was then on Vladimir Minko in the cutoff who put in the call and the 8 rolled off on the turn.

Glantz slowed down with a check and Minko checked behind before the J river peeled off.

Glantz checked again and Minko went into the tank for a moment before moving all in. Glantz snap-folded and Minko dragged the pot.

Niveau 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Alexandra Botez
Alexandra Botez

Chess queen Alexandra Botez took a tough beat early into Day 2 as her kings were cracked by the ace-king of an opponent.

Botez held KK to the opponent's AK and was in good shape to double up before the flop of 10JQ gave her opponent Broadway. The turn brought the 5 turn and the the last king in the deck landed on the river to give her a set, which was not enough.

Early Small Pots for Watson and Lonis

Niveau 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Renan Bruschi raised to 24,000 from early position and Jesse Lonis called from the big blind. Both players checked the flop of 243 and again on the 7 turn. The river was 2 and Lonis fired 42,000 to a thoughtful fold from Bruschi.

On a nearby table, Mike Watson raised to 24,000 and Chanracy Khun called from the blinds. The flop was QA5 and Khun check-folded when Watson tossed out 12,000.

Faraz Jaka

Faraz Jaka was on the button against Diogo De Melo Cardoso in the hijack on a board of 7KA2J.

With around 320,000 already in the middle, Cardoso moved all in for 237,000 and Jaka went in the tank before calling.

Cardoso showed 108 for a flush as Jaka was forced to show 22 for a no-good set of deuces.

Sivagnanam Sends Deyra to the Rail

Niveau 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A player in middle position raised to 21,000 only to see Ivan Deyra three-bet jam for 66,000 from the cutoff. Action folded through to Ratharam Sivagnanam in the big blind who came in for a four-bet to 166,000. The original raiser from middle position got out of the way, setting up a runout with Deyra at risk.

Ivan Deyra: AJ
Ratharam Sivagnanam: AK

The JQ4 flop was a great one for Deyra, but that quickly changed when the 10 hit the turn, giving Sivagnanam the nut straight and leaving Deyra drawing to a chop.

The river offered no such rescue, though, as the board completed with the Q to send Deyra to the rail with a min-cash.

The K river completed the board and Barsegian sized up to 125,000. Kaverman quickly called. Barsegian showed A5 for a pair of fives as Kaverman tabled 77 to win the pot with a set of sevens.

The action folded to Szymon Bujok in late position who moved all in for his last 62,000 before Nello Neto flat-called next to act. The remaining players folded and they were heads up to a full board.

Szymon Bujok: KK
Nello Neto: KQ

There was a small sweat on the AJ2 flop but the A turn and 9 river gave Bujoki the pure double to stay alive.
