Sergi Reixach moved all in for 34,500 from the button and Cristian Nagaki called from the big blind.
Sergi Reixach: 5♥5♣
Cristian Nagaki: 6♠6♦
Reixach was dominated and the K♠8♥2♥ flop didn't do him any favors. The K♥ turn actually gave him a heart flush draw, and he hit it when the 6♥ completed the board on the river.
Unfortunately for him, it was no good as the same card improved Nagaki to a winning full house.
Daniel Smiljkovic limped in from the butto and Jessica Teusl raised to 10,000 . Smiljkovic made the call.
The flop came K♣6♥2♣. Teusl fired a 5,500 continuation bet only for Smiljkovic to move all in for approximately 40,000. Teusl snap-called with a covering stack.
Daniel Smiljkovic: 5♣4♣
Jessica Teusl: A♠A♣
Teusl was ahead with aces but had to fade Smiljkovic's flush draw and gutshot straight draw. Smiljkovic found no help on the 2♥ turn or J♥ river and was sent to the rail just before the end of the day.
Day 1 of the Event #15: $10,000 High Roller 6-Handed at the 2023 World Series of Poker Paradise at Atlantis Hotel & Casino attracted 134 entries, which is sure to grow as late registration is open until the start of Day 2 at 3 p.m. local time Wednesday. The prize pool has already surpassed the $1,000,000 guarantee, but how big it’ll grow will have to wait until Wednesday.
After nine levels of play on Day 1, approximately 60 players found a bag with France’s Jean-Noel Thorel and his stack of 444,000 leading the pack. Others to make it through the night were Yuri Dzivielevski (417,000), Mike Watson (335,500), Jesse Lonis (327,500), Jessica Teusl (266,500), Stephen Song (184,500), and GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu (89,000).

Of course, not everyone was so lucky. Among those to try and fall were Josh Arieh, Ren Lin, Martin Kabrhel, and Sergi Reixach. The good news is that all of those players can give it another go if they’re keen to fire another bullet.
Day 2 will kick off at 3 p.m. local time on Wednesday, so stay tuned to PokerNews as we bring you all the exciting action for this event from the moment cards are in the air until a winner is crowned.
