Nick Schulman Eliminated in 5th Place ($225,000)

Niveau 23 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

First to act, Nick Schulman raised the pot to 700,000. Tyler Brown in the small blind repotted and Schulman got his stack of around 2,300,000 into the middle, Brown instantly called.

"Good luck," Brown said within a second and Schulman replied "you too" right away as they rolled over their cards.

Nick Schulman: AQ87
Tyler Brown: AA33

The KQ4 flop gave Schulman an inferior pair but the 4 turn took away some of his outs. It all came to an end with the K river as Schulman remarked "wow, it looked like the queen, did it not?"

"And diamond too," Brown replied. Schulman was covered by several big blinds and he was knocked out in fifth place for $225,000.

Michael Moncek Eliminated in 6th Place ($172,300)

Niveau 23 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Michael Moncek
Michael Moncek

Nikolaos Lampropoulos opened to 550,000 from early position before Dan Shak moved all in for 1,700,000 in late position. It was then on Michael Moncek in the small blind who burned a timebank while he was in the tank and eventually moved all in himself. Lampropoulos snap called and they were off to a full board with both Shak and Moncek at risk.

Dan Shak: KK58
Michael Moncek: 7654
Nikolaos Lampropoulos: AA29

The Q10Q flop hit the felt with Shak and Moncek falling further behind. The J turn had them drawing slim but the miracle K river gave Shak top boat and a massive triple to vault him into the lead and up the leaderboard.

Moncek hit the rail after Lampropoulos collected a small side pot.

Derwiche Still Has "the Discipline"

Niveau 23 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Imad Derwiche
Imad Derwiche

Nick Schulman raised the pot from the cutoff and won the blinds and big blind ante.

Imad Derwiche then potted out of the big blind into a small blind limp by Michael Moncek.

"No more discipline?" Moncek grinned and he folded a few seconds later.

Derwiche flipped over his AA44 and Tyler Brown joked "that's all?"

"That is discipline," Moncek added with a smile on the face and bumped fists with Derwiche.

Chip leader Nikolaos Lampropoulos then raised to 550,000 and Moncek reraised the pot for 1,950,000. The dealer verified he had that amount at his disposal, which was in fact on the dot the stack size of Moncek. Lampropoulos mulled it over and folded.

Brown limped the next small blind and Lampropoulos checked to the J52 flop, on which both checked. The A turn brought a bet worth 250,000 by Brown and he took down the pot uncontested.

Matthew Wantman Eliminated in 7th Place ($133,500)

Niveau 23 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Matthew Wantman
Matthew Wantman

Imad Derwiche limped in middle position before the action folded to Matthew Wantman in the big blind who raised to 700,000. Derwiche called and they were off to a flop with Wantman only having 200,000 back.

The 738 flop landed and Wantman promptly stuck in the last 200,000 only to get snapped off by Derwiche.

Matthew Wantman: JJQK
Imad Derwiche: A678

The 6 turn gave Derwiche a Canadian full house and the 2 would seal the deal and send Wantman to the rail.

Yuri Dzivielevski Eliminated in 8th Place ($104,700)

Yuri Dzivielevski
Yuri Dzivielevski

Tyler Brown limped on the button and Nikolaos Lampropoulos did so in the small blind. Yuri Dzivielevski then potted to 600,000 in the big blind and both opponents folded.

One hand later, Lampropoulos opened to 375,000 on the button. Dzivielevski reraised the pot once more and made it 1,275,000 to go. It folded back to Lampropoulos, who reluctantly called after using one time bank extension.

The 963 flop brought the shove of Dzivielevski for 850,000 after a few seconds of consideration and Lampropoulos first asked for the exact amount prior to the size of the pot.

"Two point eight million," Dzivielevski replied instantly.

Lampropoulos mulled it over for a few more seconds as he ran through all possible combos, then placed a single chip for the call.

Yuri Dzivielevski: AQ92
Nikolaos Lampropoulos: AQJ3

Dzivielevski was way out in front with the superior pair and flush draw. The K turn gave his opponent a gutshot but it was the unlikely J river that knocked out Dzivielevski in agonising fashion.

"Nice hand," was all he said before heading to the payout desk while Lampropoulos soared further ahead on the leaderboard. On the stone-cold money bubble, the Greek had been the odds-on favourite to bust with just one big blind as confirmed by several of the other finalists.

Derwiche Fighting for Chips

Niveau 22 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Nikolaos Lampropoulos opened under the gun to 375,000 before the action folded all the way to Imad Derwiche in the small blind. After a few moments in the tank he announced pot to the tune of 1,275,000.

The action was back on Lampropoulos who seemed to go back and fourth but eventully he returned his cards to the dealer and Derwiche scooped.

The very next hand Derwiche hit the pot button on the button and took down the blinds. He's not going down without a fight.

Brown Gets a Shove Through Against Derwiche

Niveau 22 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Imad Derwiche opened to 300,000 on the button and Tyler Brown three-bet the pot to 1,050,000 in the small blind. The reluctant call by Derwiche led to the AKQ flop on which Brown instantly moved all-in for 750,000.

Derwiche sighed deeply, used one time bank and folded.

"Do you want to see?" Brown asked and Derwiche nodded, then replied "two please".

Brown shuffled his cards for a second and exposed the K10 thereafter.

Brown Rips It In

Niveau 22 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Michael Moncek opened the button to 550,000 before the action folded to Tyler Brown in the big blind who took a moment and then flat called.

The 987 flop hit the felt and without skipping a beat Brown ripped it in for his tournament life. After only a second in the tank Moncek folded. Brown dragged a healthy pot without showdown.

Once the hand concluded, the eight players went on a short break for a group picture of the official final table.

Isaac Haxton raised to 550,000 from an early position and then called all-in when Nick Schulman moved all-in out of the small blind.

Isaac Haxton: AQ107
Nick Schulman: AAK10

Haxton spiked a flush draw on the 852 flop and nodded, but would gain no further help on the A turn and 4 river. That ended his tournament in 9th place for a payday of $83,100.
