Saderne Soars to the Top

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

Jeremy Saderne has also crossed the century mark, getting there at the expense of Stephan Gerin. It was a nasty setup that did Gerin in: on a {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board, Gerin got it in for 20,000 and Saderne quickly called to put him at risk.

Stephan Gerin: {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Jeremy Saderne: {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Saderne had already filled up his king, which left Gerin drawing to the jacks, fours or case trey if he was to survive. The {Q-Hearts} river was neither one of them and Gerin headed for the rail. Saderne, who won $364,573 in a $1,655 deepstack event earlier this year, moved up to 120,000 after the hand.

Enselme Bluffs it Off

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

In the final hand before table 1 got broken up, the board was already completed with {4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} and Igna Poker had checked. Arnaud Enselme shoved all in for 20,300, a substantial bet in relation to the pot.

Playing 21,000 himself, Igna Poker went deep in the tank and thought for nearly two minutes before making up his mind. With a firm motion, he put his stack forward.

Knowing he was beat, Enselme flung {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} open and headed out of the tournament area before the stacks were even counted, confirming his bust. Igna Poker showed just {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a mere pair of nines, but the sharp read was enough to win it all and knock out Elselme.

It's All About Sow

Niveau 8 : 300/600, 600 ante
Kalidou Sow
Kalidou Sow

The current chipleader with nearly eight levels in the bag is none other than Kalidou Sow. The Frenchman, who gained notoriety last year by winning no fewer than three large tournaments in a row, has moved himself up to 170,000 in chips and the coveted spot.

In his most recent hand, Sow tangled with Guy Taylor and both had already built up a decent-sized pot on {9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. Taylor checked to Sow, who picked it up with a bet of 7,500 to extend his lead.

Aces Fatal for Faggioli

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 800 ante

On a {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop, Ugo Faggioli was first to act and shoved all in for 13,000. Behind him, Francesco Pillitteri also shoved for 43,500 and another player gave it up.

Ugo Faggioli: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Francesco Pillitteri: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Pillitteri held a commanding lead with his set and easily remained ahead after the {8-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river popped up.

Tosques Bluffs it Off, Doubles Back Up, Then Busts

Niveau 9 : 400/800, 800 ante
Francois Tosques
Francois Tosques

With the board completed at {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, Francois Tosques had a bet of 24,700 in front of him and Jim Azazgour called it off after thinking for a minute. Defeated, Tosques flung {K-Diamonds}{4-} open for the failed blocker play, Azazgour rolled over {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a set of deuces and scooped up the sizable pot.

Left with around 10,000, Tosques shortly found himself all in with {9-Hearts}{8-Spades} on a {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board. The pair of nines was good for the French pro, who nearly won his first WSOP bracelet this summer, and he doubled up. However, Tosques wasn't able to enjoy that newfound wealth for long as he busted shortly after.
