Zoufri Jams Successfully

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Viorel Gavrila defended his big blind against Abdelhakim Zoufri and check-called a bet worth 7,100 on the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts} turn. He then checked the {10-Spades} river and Zoufri carefully counted his stack before pushing for around 42,000. Gavrila snap-folded and the Dutchman collected the pot.

Wieser Doubles Through Campanile

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Joining the action on the {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} turn, Enrico Campanile bet 12,000 out of the big blind. Sergiu Covrig let go from an early position while Matthias Wieser called in the cutoff. The {6-Diamonds} followed on the river and Campanile pushed forward his stack of T-5,000 chips. Wieser called all-in for 48,000 and tabled {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for the nut straight, which beat Campanile's {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for turned two pair.

Late Casualties on Day 1a

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The defending champion Andrea Ricci and Aliaksandr Shylko, a finalist of the last edition, have both been eliminated.

Game Over for Scozzari

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Former big stack Agostino Scozzari had taken multiple hits and then eventually jammed a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} to claim a pot of around 60,000. However, he received a snap-call by the table chip leader Luc Ta within fewer than one full second.

Agostino Scozzari: {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Luc Ta: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Scozzari's double gutshot failed to get there on the {3-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Spades} river, sending him to the rail in the last level of the night.

Ferreira Cracks Aces to Double

Niveau 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Cristiano Ferreira
Cristiano Ferreira

In a preflop all-in contest, Cristiano Ferreira was the player at risk for 79,500 and needed plenty of help against Valerii Firstenko.

Cristiano Ferreira: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Valerii Firstenko: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop was a promising start and the {2-Hearts} turn locked up the double with the nut flush, making the {9-Diamonds} river a formality.

Zoufri Jams Into Ricci

Niveau 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Abdelhakim Zoufri as among those to enter Day 1a in the late stages and he has essentially doubled his stack. The latest add-on came courtesy of Andrea Ricci when the Dutchman check-jammed the {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} turn for 61,900. Ricci had invested 15,000 and tank-folded.
