Welcome to Day 2 of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit €1,700 Main Event

King's Resort
King's Resort

At 2pm local time, the flagship tournament of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit in Rozvadov continues with Day 2 of the €1,700 Main Event. The €1 million guarantee has already been surpassed thanks to 696 entries throughout both starting days but early entries prior to the restart has pushed that number beyond 700 entries already.

Late registration and up to two re-entries remain available for the first two hours and following break with the returning blinds commencing at 1,000-2,000 and a big blind ante of 2,000. This gives all late additions to the mix 25 big blinds for the first 60 minutes of play. It is even possible that the event will surpass the 912 entries of the previous edition in September 2021 in Europe's biggest poker arena.

Albanese and Tabacaru Eliminated

Natale Albanese

With already 90,000 in the middle to the {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, Laviniu David pushed all-in with the superior stack. Natale Albanese tanked for a brief while and then called it off for the 56,500 he had behind.

Natale Albanese: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Laviniu David: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {3-Diamonds} turn gave some chop outs but the {10-Hearts} river was a blank. "Almost king-nine," David joked to Martin Kabrhel.

One hand later, David opened the button to 4,500 and Kabrhel three-bet to 19,000. Ion Tabacaru four-bet jammed from the big blind for 53,000 and David checked the stack of Kabrhel before folding, while the Czech instantly called.

Ion Tabacaru: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Martin Kabrhel: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Tabacaru was ahead on the {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop and {2-Diamonds} but the dreadful ace came on the {a-Clubs} river. "I play good, write it down," Kabrhel said in table chat.

In a battle of the blinds, Krisztian Kis bet the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} turn small and called a raise to 12,000 by Enrico Campanile. Kis checked the {10-Clubs} river and Campanile pushed forward a stack of T-5,000 chips. With just 46,000 behind, Kis mulled over his decision for a while and eventually called.

Campanile tabled the {7-Hearts}{5-Spades} for quads and Kis' {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} were only briefly exposed.

In a preflop all-in contest, the chips of Ilhan Soenmez from under the gun, Moncef Karoui on the button and Rifat Gegic in the small blind all went into the middle. Karoui had both opponents covered but only the second-best hand heading into the following showdown.

Ilhan Soenmez: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Rifat Gegic: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Moncef Karoui: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Karoui rivered a set of kings to score a double knockout.

On a flop of {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Stefan Bittger bet 15,000 and Johann Roesnick took no chances but jammed in his massive stack of more than 280,000. Bittger went into the tank and eventually folded the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} face-up.

"Can we see the next two cards?" Roesnick asked the dealer but that request was denied. He also showed his cards, the {2-Hearts}{2-Spades} for the bottom set.

Ta Doubles Back Into Big Stack

Luc Ta
Luc Ta

"Wow, he snapped me off. I thought he flopped the flush," Luc Ta gasped when he had just secured a double through Said Madani. Ta had been a big stack not long ago, then lost some of it, only to get back above half a million.

With more than 175,000 in the middle beyond the preflop stage, they got it in after the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop with Ta at risk.

Luc Ta: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Said Madani: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The {7-Diamonds} turn and {8-Spades} river were blanks and Ta doubled for 191,000. Madani was left with crumbs and lost those shortly after.

Rough Exit for Savinelli in Back-to-Back Hands

Niveau 14 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Carlo Savinelli
Carlo Savinelli

Carlo Savinelli tangled with table neighbour Marco Boorsma and it was the most classic of flips with the Dutchman at risk for 206,000.

Marco Boorsma: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Carlo Savinelli: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board delivered the ace on the flop and Savinelli was left with around 55,000. Only moments later, those went into the middle and Majid Bozakraft followed suit as Gennaro Proscia looked up both opponents.

Majid Bozakraft: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Carlo Savinelli: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Gennaro Proscia: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The dreadful ace appeared once more on the {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} runout and Proscia knocked out two opponents.

"Why always the ace?" Ali Amelipour asked. Another big stack arrived at the table when the hands occurred as Cecil Moagi carried over his heaps of chips.
